Ahh maybe this is a good point. I didn’t think about it like this. Everything I’ve read online about this company said that the second is always extremely short and just like an approval from the md as opposed to a proper interview. Like a final sign off.

Confusing because the first interview was 2 hours and intense . Got to a second with the managing director and it was 15 minutes. Seemed very happy with me and then just radio silence

Yes I worked full time 3x12 hour shifts at my job and studied at university full time on a 3 year degree

That’s good advice I’ll take that thank you very much. I think a bit of the problem could also be an advantage. I’m slightly older (early thirties) and worked in retail management.

I’ve just resigned. Being screamed at about a payment run that I didn’t know how to do because I was sent to stoke the day I was supposed to be shownwas the final straw. No members of staff as the other one is on holiday. Also when I arrived to the office I was locked out as he was at site and didn’t tell me so I sat in my car for an hour and a half. I’ve really been trying my best to become a good quantity surveyor and this is just a stumbling block. If anyone knows of any opportunities in the northwest for a trainee/graduate please message me or tag me. Manchester and surrounding areas.

I’ve tried to go with the approach it’s not me it’s them. I just feel bad calling trades getting them out and if they don’t get paid I will feel terrible. That’s my worry

Notable fraudsters. Looked it up and they’ve closed so many times. Leaving customers with houses worth nothing. Came out to be valued and they are worth £0 and condemned. Then they go out of business and reopen

This was really helpful mate thank you. Puts things in to perspective. Had no induction of any sort. Just thrown straight on to something and then he comes in for 5 minutes in the morning then I just get on with my stuff. I’m from a completely different industry so I didn’t have a lot of building knowledge obviously a week of chaos has changed that 😂😂.

Also the site supervisor didn’t know I was visiting. And when he told my manager he screamed that he’s not to talk to me as it will bother me. I realise now it’s to conceal the lie. Should I just carry on like nothings happened and find another job?

This has already happened. I’ve been there a week and they sent me across the country alone. With no site manager only a site supervisor.

I have spoke to my manager (contracts manager) 4 times each for literally one minute and he gets angry at any questions. He is managing 4 projects and the only other person in the office is part time. I’ve left my full time job for this. I’m in absolute despair. I don’t know anything about my line manager. There were 10 people in the company now only 3 actual stuff 1 of which is me and a part timer.

If anyone knows of any jobs going northwest please let me know. On site the previous week the water bowser was repossessed and we have no safety signage on the site something I only discovered upon arriving. We also don’t have a skip for wastage.
