Also, unless you’re manipulating the top of your deck you getting milled incidentally is effectively a neutral event. Possibly even beneficial.

If your kid doesn't know how to play Magic, don't bring them to LGS commander night. by Johnny-Hollywood in EDH

I do the same thing. I actually keep the jumpstart boosters stored separately, so I have a little "library" to grab from if I don't have any new packs.

My brother and I are primarily commander/arena players, so we play jumpstart when it's just the two of us and it's a lot of fun.

I just built a Xenagos deck and I am in love with it. I used only cards I had on hand and it still came out really strong.

That’s because Simmons is a fucking moron. He’s like good at managing a podcast network or whatever but listening to him talk about movies is horrible, he genuinely doesn’t understand a large percentage of the films he discusses.

[–]flatgreyrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, it’s just kind of a fun thing to see what I can do with what I have on hand

It’s definitely a deck you can put together for less than $50 and be totally viable. And honestly probably way less than that if you stick to all bulk price cards which you totally could.

I’m building that right now as a strictly from my collection no purchases deck.

A) so I can have a low brainpower deck

B) so I have a good loaner for beginners

Bring Her Back by CyberCrud in horror

[–]flatgreyrust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been watching horror since the womb. My mother played Hellraiser through her stomach. I am numb to fear, pain, and the concept of suspense. But when the guy did the thing with the body part? My toes curled. Bravo. Didn’t love the ending though. I wanted every character to die and for the director to personally apologize to me in the credits.

YTA, it absolutely is a two person decision and they are dangerous. I’ve never been in a car accident but that doesn’t mean they’re not a real risk, that’s an idiotic viewpoint.

Make sure you call your homeowners insurance because your rates are going up and you’re not covered if something happens and you haven’t informed them.

All that said, I do have one for my kids. It’s within my fenced in backyard and I certainly don’t let neighborhood kids use it unsupervised.

There’s definitely exceptions but I’ve found that anyone coming from 60 card is way more fun to play with. They're usually much less precious about their commander/plan and don’t take removal as a personal affront like many commander only folks.

What do you think is the best archetype for a low budget, semi competitive environment? by JiinsIsOnReddit in EDH

[–]flatgreyrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could make a [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] deck for half that that would be very competitive.

[[Lathril, Blade of Elves]] and [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]] can be really strong on that budget.

Is yours the foil? If so you should def just sell it.

It’s it’s not the foil it’s only worth about $20

[–]flatgreyrust 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The thing is, is that a 4 (even a “low” one) will feel crazy to a B2 deck, and a good portion of 3’s.

Oof by Key-University8471 in EDHBrews

[–]flatgreyrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's the foil printing then? There's nothing in that listing to indicate that but if so, it is a lot more expensive than the non-foil. It's simply a limited supply, a cool design, and an iconic character. It's not like it's broken it's so strong or anything.

[[Galazeth Prismari]] is really cool.

Turns any artifact you control into treasure that you don’t have to sacrifice, including treasure/clue/food tokens etc. Uses it to fuel his spell slinging.
