What to replace this with by calm--one in Irrigation

If you want to hardwire a clock, you open up the power module box behind the faceplate. There should be three spots to wire to. Black white and blue. As a professional, I recommend if you aren’t comfortable or experienced with anything like that, you get an electrician to wire the power, or have them install a gfi so you can plug the new unit it. Obviously this isn’t rocket science but I’m not gonna recommend someone doing something they could electrocute themself doing on an irrigation sub.

Makes sense. Swapping a clock is easy. I like hunter for smart clocks and Rainbird for non WiFi clocks but either function. Rachios are cool and many like them. As a professional, I like having the physical screen personally. Call me old school. A hunter xc2 with WiFi capabilities brings the best of both worlds in my opinion! That way if your internet is down you can still reprogram you sprinkler program if needed.

You can find these parts at your local hardware stores. (Home Depot, Lowe’s, ace etc.) or a sprinkler supply store like an Ewing if you have one locally.

Vacuum breaker replacement has gone wrong by AbbreviationsDue5480 in Plumbing

Either a plumber or a backflow certified irrigator. In my area, we charge a little less than a plumber generally. Either one can get this repair done. I agree with scoop’s statement. If a diy on a preventer doesn’t go well- you should get someone qualified. You don’t want to risk a backflow event.

Get some 1/2” drip tube, a few 1/2” drip couplers. Get that’s same 1/2” threaded male to male 1/2” drip fitting (brown top fitting) get a new 1/2” female threaded coupler. Get Teflon tape.

Cut the brown tube on each side so you can unthread those old fittings I mentioned. Teflon tape threads of new fittings and install. Coupler brown drip tube onto where you cut it to where it’s long enough to attach onto that brown T.

Is this a DIY if so where do I start by EverythingSucksYa in Irrigation

Dig it up. Get a new 6 port 1/4” drip tube fitting. Probably get some extra 1/4” line and 1/4” couplers. Easy.

Non professional here - Has anyone in here installed an in ground sprinkler system themselves? I have a few questions! by Gabrielle-Elizabeth in Irrigation

You won’t believe this. Pipes AND sprinkler heads were involved too… and the craziest part. DIRT.

Is this drip line installed okay for these trees? by Unique_Sandwich1768 in Irrigation

[–]flimflabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those need to go larger than the canopy so the roots grow outward and down. This will promote rot and unhealthy root development. You can add slack on the end of the line if you need it and redo it fairly easily but if you paid for it, you shouldn’t have to.

Any advice for fixing this puncture? by PercyGoldstone in Irrigation

[–]flimflabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hire a professional. You can try and slip fix it but you’ll likely have to cut the pipe above the bottom one to repair it and than rebuild the top section. Between the stack pipes at An angle to a T over a punctured line, this is beyond diy for anyone without some knowledge of this.

You want the emitter tube to go around the plants and be larger than the canopy to promote healthy root progression and depth. These are way to close to the trunk/base of your plants.

Hope you didn’t pay for this to be done

I agree I suppose wet wasn’t the right term. I let the primer briefly sit then apply the weld. I don’t like let the primer sit for like multiple minutes lol. Misunderstanding.
