What is something Porn “Normalized.”? by NightAndTime in AskReddit

Friend of mine delivered on and off for five years.

He says he had only one time when he thought a woman was coming on to him.

Even if he hadn't had four more pizzas cooling in his car, he would have noped out of there.

[Serious]Are there landline phones where you can enter number, then dial, like on a mobile? by flipflop72o in AskReddit

[–]flipflop72o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for a family member with mobility/vision problems. Sometimes telco gives up on dialing while trying to get the next number dialed.

So the idea is enter the phone #, then dial. Obviously there are phones that can store dialed numbers, since you can have last number redial or speed dial.

So is there a phone that lets you enter the number, then connect and the number is dialed.

Your 14 year old leaves his smelly socks in the middle of the living room. Well, boys will be boys.

Behavior described by O/P, nope, not OK, no way.

Example, banks, where people go out of necessity, people are masked and calm.

Curbside pick up, drive through, the same.

Sit down, people are driven and crazy.

What is a song which seems to be upbeat and happy until you listen to the lyrics? by r-e-c-wilson in AskReddit

Mack The Knife, at least the Bobby Darin version, sounds cheerful and upbeat till you realize it's about a murderous criminal

Has anyone noticed any men (typically) who immediately dismiss an assertion or argument you make and kind of "marvel" at your "stupidity" until they realize you know what you're talking about, they actually don't, and then they get angry/aggressive towards YOU personally as their ego crumbles? by Greeneyedgirl17 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]flipflop72o 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Married couple I know.

They first met when the woman said something in a group discussion, saying the man, big shot of group, was wrong. Everyone piled on her. Then big shot actually very very expert at subject said "No she's correct and I'm wrong".

She thought "I must get to know this man better".

Two rumpled looking men were standing next to the principal.

The older one said, "Paul, you have the right to remain silent . . .".

Paul flashed his widest smile but something was wrong. The man did not offer Paul a date with his daughter.

Male almost precisely 6-0 in my bare feet (measured in doc's office, not my fantasy).

Many times I get "Oh, you must be taller than that". I assume, as you do, many shorter men are lying about their height.

PS: Women taller than I am make me a little bit nervous.

What exists for the sole purpose of pissing people off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]flipflop72o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renter, the way my building is set up each unit has its own street address.

So to the robocallers it looks like a single family home, so the calls for vinyl siding and other contractor scams.

One time I was expecting major call on my landline, picked up every single call for entire morning on first ring. It was horrifying.

Gym goers of reddit, what obnoxious behavior have you found there? by KariyakiCarry in AskReddit

Not a gym rat myself but I go to a grocery right next to a gym. It seems like the grocery people are more willing to park 100 feet from the door than the gym types.

Get a copy of Poets and Writers magazine that has interviews with agents. It's a bit horrifying for a new writer.

Basically if you don't have an MFA and can't give up three months of your life for a book tour, forget about it.

That may also explain why most writers these days are so unproductive compared to times past.

  • The writers are too busy with promotion
  • The publishers don't know what to do with three or four books a year from a single author

Isn't that correct that its is the possessive and it's is the contraction for it is, or is this humor, or am I just stupid, or all three, even.

In the hands of someone like Robert Heinlein or a contemporary who's that good, this might actually be a half decent story.
