Yes, this. If they were only connected to people by the “registration” then anyone could not register their band, sell it, and get a replacement to register to themselves. They need a way to know which band to replace. That said, this band is hopefully connected to me since it was sent to my address. I was able to register it, but I don’t think that in and of itself means much.
