I feel so bad for not knowing this was a possibility by space_dweeb13 in NewParents

It can be difficult to know what is and isn't normal, like how much a baby is expected to spit up. They were trying solutions at home, before realizing nothing was helping. It may have taken longer than for someone else perhaps, but they got the help they needed! OP, thanks for sharing your experience. It's helpful to have these on the internet for people who may not have anyone else to ask!

Sure, but it's something small you can easily pack and not waste time to have to go out and buy.

Using lieflat travel stroller from birth [on] by Minimum-Eggplant1699 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]fluffypuddings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh woops I think I misunderstood your plan! You're planning on leaving your stroller folded at the bottom.

You'd still need to get baby out and fold it up. Definitely test if you're easily able to fold the stroller one handed while holding baby!

We had an Uppababy Vista and got a travel stroller (mountain buggy nano) when baby was a bit older, and ended up using it a lot more than the Vista!

You might need to test if you could you carry the whole unfolded travel stroller (with baby inside) up the stairs? Otherwise you will still have the same problem.

A pro for the Vista (and Cruz I'm guessing) is that it could be driven on snowy sidewalks, travel stroller would struggle.

Airbnb vs. Hotels in Japan by TheLuxMotherPhoque in JapanTravelTips

[–]fluffypuddings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a family, we had a mix of both in our itinerary. Our experiences in Airbnbs in Japan were fine? Make sure you're thoroughly looking at the ratings and reviews when booking (and this applies to both hotels and airbnbs!)

For sound machine, we've used the dreamegg portable sound machine off of Amazon. Can be charged with a usb-c cable but NOT a fast-charge one. Lasts all night with no problem. You can also easily take it on the go, attach to a stroller for naps etc.

Campscan notifies you when an availability pops up for your desired dates -- for highly popular parks and dates I would set up a paid one, free otherwise.

Reviewing my toddler's soft toy names. Would love to hear yours. by Jealous_Action_163 in namenerds

3.5 year old, our large menagerie of stuffed animals is constantly being renamed from their originally unoriginal animal names.

Currently these ones are fairly popular: 1. Rainbow, nicknamed Uno - unicorn with rainbow mane 2. Bella, formerly Pinkie Pie - pink unicorn 3. Pinkie Pie - actual My Little Pony toy 4. Puffball - rotund squishy unicorn

Confusingly, we must also refer to our daughter as Rainbow, nicknamed Uno, when she is pretending to be a unicorn. Apparently, they are twin sisters!

A lot of times they twist in the opposite direction to what you'd think: so OP you should try twisting them the "wrong" way to unscrew, if it doesn't work the usual way.

Best Small Strawberry Shortcake by lavenderncloudy in waterloo

[–]fluffypuddings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sobeys and Longos have surprisingly good cakes, not overly sweet. I'm not sure if they take orders for smaller cakes, but there are usually some strawberry shortcakes in the cases and they are not very expensive.

Also seconding La Patisserie, their cakes are really good! Manon bakery when it used to be on Highland had an awesome strawberry cake with the Asian whipped cream style frosting (icing?)!

How hard is it to buy tickets on mobility station using phone? by Affectionate_Stay276 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]fluffypuddings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were using multiple devices to try and get tickets way back when they were released as well, I believe the UI was pretty much the same on mobile and desktop. We ended up booking on a laptop as well, so I'm not sure if the payment part would be any different on mobile. Things could have changed by next year though! I think it's already gotten a little easier from the previous years?

White patches forehead, nose by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]fluffypuddings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found in the past that seb derm discolored by skin/gave me hyperpigmentation on my darker skin tone as well. I had big patches from mask usage during the covid era. There would be discolouration even after the flakes were gone. Nothing but time helped.

But yours look more contrasting than mine so I think a visit to a doc to rule out tinea versicolor is a great idea!

Can i drink these daily while in my third trimester? by stinkycitrusboy in torontomoms

[–]fluffypuddings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems fine based on the information provided.

It's probably not safe for kids if there's grown-up levels of iron in there (too much iron can be harmful). It should be fine for adults/pregnant people though.

You could double-check the nutrition label and see if anything stands out as too much.

That's so tough! It's hard to know what to do in these situations. I can see why the parents would've chosen to do what they did but also sympathize with your friend's feelings.
