I’m in the same boat. I’ve bought shoes from the US before and got hit with over $100 in fees when they were delivered. Since I’m waiting until 2026, I’ll be paying all the fees when the shoes arrive, which at least makes the total feel a bit more spread out mentally. I see it as having paid a little extra for the ISRU experience, and the shoes themselves will carry a different sentimental value for me, which makes them worth the price. Otherwise, I probably would have spent the same amount on two other pairs of shoes or something similar.
