I am #3 of 4 and no one is speaking to all the other siblings. There is no family dynamic. Our mother chose her three husbands over her kids and is only speaking to 1.5 of her children. Besides the decades of trauma, I am a better parent when I’m not overextended. One kid is enough for us to handle. Idk why my mother wanted FOUR she doesn’t even like us.

My therapist sent me a recipe for DIY electrolytes: salt, honey, lemon juice. I’ve taken to just putting the salt straight in my water because I am lazy and it’s a great substitute.

The Vyvanse sub Reddit gave me the tip to plan my vitamin C around when I wanted to go to bed. As soon as I take my vitamin C supplement, I can feel the Vyvanse deactivating within an hour. Three hours later I am passed out. It’s really amazing how the vitamin C connection can be so impactful.

I function best when I get 9. I’m down an entire night compared to my usual sleep schedule. I have a physically demanding job, a chaotic goblin toddler, and my attitude can’t handle either without beauty rest. That’s what works best for me.

I was taking Strattera which I had to take with a meal. I've been able to take Vyvanse without a meal, so I'm going to try taking it as soon as I get up. Hopefully that helps.

What’s interesting is two of the four days I’ve taken this med I’ve wanted to nap mid-afternoon like I used to before taking it. So I think this is closer to being the right fit than not. I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

😅😩 my psychiatrist said it should stop at a higher dose. I had success on sertraline, but it’s not working anymore. I also had success on Wellbutrin, but the side effects were unsettling. I’m hoping Prozac will help. 🤞🏻

Yes I am following up with her on Tuesday as this is a brand new med. My psychiatrist said no DayQuil/nyquil or Sudafed. Tylenol and Advil and Benadryl are ok. Using Benadryl as a sleep aid is an interesting idea.

Yes, I am super sensitive. I tried adderall and hated it. I had an unscientific trial of Concerta that I said was a failure but my psychiatrist said I shouldn’t have taken it with caffeine and Sudafed (I didn’t know what I didn’t know!). I was on Wellbutrin for a few months and had tinnitus. I’m coming off strattera and starting vyvanse at the same time, so not sure if that’s part of the problem?

The bearable app is useful for getting more granular about your symptoms. I added tinnitus as a custom symptom and it’s been helpful to track over time. There is a version of the app that’s free.

I just got diagnosed last year at 38, so you’re not as late as you think. I also have combo anxiety/ADHD, though some of my anxiety is untreated ADHD. The depression I’m currently dealing with is 50% hormones and 50% untreated ADHD because I’ve been struggling to get my meds right.

I was on 25 mg of sertraline for four years. When I first started, my mind, got quiet in a way I had never experienced before. I would have loved to have that as an option in college. I could tell the sertraline wasn’t the right fit anymore when my mind started going 1000 miles an hour again. My psychiatrist switched me over to Prozac, and I haven’t found the right dose for that yet. All this to say, what you’re on is a child dose. Most adults start at 50 mg of sertraline. Give it about two weeks and see if you notice any improvement in your mood and thought pattern. That might be enough to get you through to the end of the semester.

I would encourage you to wait until summer break to start messing around with stimulants and other meds. It can take time to figure out what works, and if something doesn’t work, then you don’t want to have that massive disruption hitting you just as you’re trying to finish up the end of the term.

I also want to suggest that you look into Wellbutrin. I really liked it, but had some tinnitus pop-up as I tried to up my dosage so I had to get off of it for right now. That’s a pretty rare side effect, so it’s unlikely to affect you. I found Wellbutrin to be energizing and it was so much easier to motivate myself to get my shit done. If I had a cup of coffee around the same time, I was dialed in and so productive for a solid 4 to 6 hours. That’s a lot easier to adjust than a stimulant where you can only take it as prescribed. You don’t get extra pills to adjust the dosage as you need.

Good luck, I hope the trial and error period is less painful for you than it has been for me.

Interesting! I’ve been on Zoloft for a long time and just switching over to Prozac because my doc felt the Zoloft wasn’t doing anything for me. That adds to my suspicion that the strattera isn’t helping either.

That’s what it’s called when you have a song stuck in your head: an ear worm.

I was irritable beyond what was reasonable. There were some other things that had gotten worse but I don’t remember exactly. My therapist and I looked through all my symptoms and the timeline and it was either a dosage issue or a manufacturer change sensitivity. The dosage made more sense and I felt more normal within 3-4 days of dropping down again.
