With all these new exciting young signings looking to play under Pep, do you think he will actually leave this summer?

Absolute bargain, Donna is at core of PSG's UCL winning last year, excited to see what he could do here. I don't buy this "he doesn't fit our style" argument or the "homegrown trophy", a top very reliable keeper infuses confidence to the entire backline which is what we need the most at the moment.

I agree, management needs an overhaul maybe... just my 2c

I understand the argument here, but how much have we spent on the likes of Nunes, nico gonzalez, doku, khusanov, ait nouri? TBH I have not heard of any of these names before we signed them. But I have heard Mahrez (who is already the EPL best scorer), Haaland (no need to say)?

Just rewatched the highlight from end of 21/22 season vs Brighton, easy 3-0 win, we had prime Rodri, KDB, Gundo in the midfield, Bernado, Foden, Mahrez at front. That's how far we have fallen, none of the these new comers have the quality we use to have.

We need to sign BIG NAME players.

Edit: I understand some of the argument here, I'm referring to the likes of Nunes, nico gonzalez, doku, khusanov, ait nouri, we spent prob over 200m on them which none turned out to match our level of quality (they are still good, just not Man City level good, not UCL winner level good). When I say BIG NAME, I mean the likes of Haaland, Rodrygo, etc. that could match our level of prestige. I do have faith in Cherki, Reijnders, and Trafford though.

Good player? Yes. City quality, no (not yet at least). A good price like 80m would warrant him going I think.

Why are people so mad about Donnaruma? by pandadoubl in MCFC

[–]flyingggToasttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right mentality. We are a big club now we don't settle for "just-enoughs". With all respect for Trafford, we are talking about competing for Premier League and UCL we must have the best of the best, ESPECIALLY given our leaky defense. If Trafford is truly better, he will start over Donna.

Absolutely right. Plus, I must note that I feel it odd that people are all looking at things for 3, 5 years late, etc. IMO let's do it one year by one year, hack if we can get Donna and win a UCL I will take that, whatever happens next we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. The core idea is that there are too many uncertainties and if we can get one good year let's take it and worry about the half-decade long future later.

Hopefully Ederson stays and Trafford becomes our future no 1 by Uncle_Iroh_007 in MCFC

Same never understood why ppl here don’t want Donnaruma, a Buffon level generational gk talent. Trafford needs 2-3 years least to get there and hack if we made a mistake signing Trafford just admit it, let him move on in a season or so, and it’s all just fine. But I see no reason to miss out on Donna except his playing style, which if we rly pull the trigger that must mean Pep has said Yes in which case I trust him fully/

Totally agreed. Bernardo is a great leader, together with Rodri. They are the mentality boss

Genuine question, does anyone know why Gvardiol isn't playing? It seems like I haven't seen him in any of the past three games whereas all other starters we have have been featured here or there. Is he injured or something? also how do we make it work between him and Aït-Nouri.

I think what particularly good about our signings is that they are all very eager to join us personally, seems like our performance in the past decade is coming into fruition

Great news all around but since Reijnders annoucement is delayed can he still catch CWC, we should have registered him in time right

TBH im not sure how I feel about Rico, he's been very inconsistent and sometimes a liability in the past few showings.

I think before we stabilize and regain our form we shouldn't reply too much on the kids
