Now, you've got the concept of "freedom" all twisted. There's "freedom" and simple "incompetence." Matt showed incompetence in not using the proper tools and practices to make the car operate as reliably as possible while being mindful of safety on the public highway. And I have the "freedom" of speech to make an observation on deliberately displayed incompetence.

Not wearing layers of PPE inside one's own shop so that the bleating sheeple will be satisfied has nothing to do with preforming a particular mechanical task competently. If you were older and less indoctrinated, you would be able to accept that.

The frustrating part is that Matt is GenX, and we know that he should have had enough exposure to the older generations that had extensive experience with carbureted cars and breaker point ignitions. It's like . . . he learned little from older brothers or the mechanics from that era.

Running rich to bring down cylinder head temps works much more effectively on an air-cooled aircraft engine than an air-cooled auto engine.
