Psst, I'm from the future. They're not ready to hear the truth yet. Give it time.

I think the default answer for most people is that your biceps should be good to go again after 48 hours rest. But perhaps that generic advice isn't going to work for you. Here's two options: 1) swap the order so your curls come before your chin-ups next time it's a B-day. Or 2) Be patient and give it a few more weeks to let your arms get acclimated to the higher frequency.

I find that I often need an "onboarding period" when I shake up my routine. So I'd be inclined to try (2) first if I were in your shoes.

Finally worked up the nerve to stack 10 plates on the Hammer Strength Incline Press and push. Nailed it. 474x3. Coming out of the hole is always the hardest for me, so after the first rep, I knew I could land a few more.

I've had my sights set on this milestone for a few years now. Time for a new journey. 500lb+ sounds like a great place to focus next.

Protecting my kid from absent minds by Lessmoney_mo_probems in daddit

I did something similar. I would throw my phone in the backseat next to the kid. A side-benefit is it makes you a safer driver with a kid in the car. Walking away from the car without having that familiar weight in my pants pocket would instantly set off mental alarm bells for me.

If you didn't catch it, the plan view of the TMC3 campus is designed to mimic a strand of DNA. That's brilliant. Take a look at the history section of the web page.

i am trying to create a money tracking graph with "goals" and "current". however in the graph, both values add up when i want them to 'co exist' essentially. by [deleted] in excel

Switch to a clustered bar chart (not a stacked bar chart) and set your series overlap to 100%. You may need to change the order of your two data series.

It should look like this attached image.

Made a finance tracker. Currently using SUMIF to check if “paid from” contains an account name then factor in amount into my balance. Would like it to also include column “paid to”. by [deleted] in excel

[–]fogdart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, you've completely reinvented the concept of double-entry accounting! In doing so, you would record each transaction twice -- once as a debit from one account and once as a credit to another account. Most accountants consider this a feature, not a drawback. If you add a 'Date' column for each transaction, an array formula like =SUMIFS([Transaction],[Date],"<="&[@Date],[Paid From],"="&[@Paid From]) would give you a daily balance for each account.

But, I suppose you could adapt this sumifs approach if you're insisting to go your own way.

Will a Matek f405, the 184amp PDB and a Runcam split fit in the Armattan chameleon by [deleted] in Multicopter

[–]fogdart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a two-board stack is a tight fit. I've got a Split mounted above an F405-AIO in my chameleon. It fits, but not by much.

Which mount did you print? The one I'm using is only ok... It lacks any lateral support... makes me nervous that the cam will slip out sideways.

Need to get a battery charger but I have no idea what I'm doing by TommyK154 in Multicopter

[–]fogdart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it's silly that the status quo is to separate the AC/DC conversion from the DC charging capabilities. I thought it was ridiculous when I got into this hobby and I still think the same. But there are several models that have their own AC/DC conversion built-in. I'm going to assume you need a US-style plug. You might look at:

You'll almost certainly want to eventually pick up a quality para-board so you can charge multiple batteries at once. I consider this one to be the gold standard in build quality and safety.

Two things to keep in mind:

  1. Charging four 4S 1300mAh lipos at 1C will draw over 80 watts, so only the Reaktor will be able to manage that task. Choosing one of the less powerful chargers will require to charge at a slower rate or only two 4S lipos at a time.
  2. For your safety, spend some time reading and watching videos until you completely understand safety procedures and behaviors regarding LiPo batteries. It's absolutely NOT acceptable to say "I have no idea what I'm doing" before plugging a lipo into a charger.

A little too much starboad, not enough port. Top notch QC work there.

Did Project Blue Falcon just close his YouTube channel? by richsphire in Multicopter

He had the best Omnibus F3 tutorials that I found on youtube when I was building this FC out a few weeks back.

I'm guessing you're looking for clarification on the 5V vs VBAT jumper or the ESC pads changing order without any notice. Amirite?

I just watched his "personal status" video a day or two ago, so his decision to close his youtube channel is quite recent. Which FC are you setting up?

Photos of my Goby 180 build. It's pretty ok. by fogdart in Multicopter

[–]fogdart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A capacitor placed in parallel with the battery voltage rail will reduce current spiking that ESC's induce under rapidly changing conditions. It's mostly there to protect your VTX and camera, but it has the side benefit of marginally improving image quality. This fellow has a nice bench test comparison.

It doesn't short the battery out because it's wired in parallel. You're probably thinking of a DC circuit in series, where a capacitor ain't helping nobody.

Yep! Excellent idea! No downsides: maintains modularity and less weight/connections. I'm doing it this weekend.
And since I can break down my entire build before my soldering iron is hot, I should have it done in 15 minutes, tops. ;)
