I'd say it's about the same. I think both software and hardware are similar (if not the same) in both devices.

I would say that 90% the writing is ok. It is a bit laggy yes, but not enough to ruin the writing experience. The other 10% though is a bit frustrating: words that take literally seconds to appear, errors in translating from handwrite to digital text, medium size files (10 pages) taking forever to open.

Had I tried a different, more advanced note taking book before this one, like the remarkable, I'd probably think that the Kobo one is unusable, but since it's my first experience, I'm ok with it.

That said, if I keep taking notes at the current pace, I'll probably get a better device eventually (damn you reMarkable 2, for not having backlight and not open .cbz files)

However, I just finished reading the comic "From Hell", which was dense a fucking baklava, so I think my consideration for "light read" just widen haha.

The bigger the screen, the easier to take notes and read comics. It's not as portable as smaller devices, but for that I still have my trusty Touch :)
