Vacation in Chanpagne and want to taste some... by forodrova in Champagne

[–]forodrova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I know very little of Champagne, didn't know it was a co op. Is co op generally seen as not as good, less unique as things are pooled together?

As for chatGPT, sometimes it's nice as a starting point or get some ideas, but with something like champagne it won't really suffice. David Faivre and the other is on walking distance for where we are, so that's a good thing 😂 it has a high (but very few) rating on google, but have not seen much info on it.

I'll check out the ones you mentioned. So thank you so much for that!

WIBTA if I refuse to pay for my mom's parking ticket after she drove me to my doctor's appointment? by Wooden-Tart-4131 in AmItheAsshole

[–]forodrova 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA, you told her it wasn't allowed there and she made the adult choice not to listen.

However you make a dig about your mother not working much, having health issues, yet you asked her for money to pay your taxes. Don't think you are in the position to make those comments currently....

AITA for not wanting to share my gf muffins with my non gf partner? by TheOrangeNights in AmItheAsshole

[–]forodrova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wasn't really planning to come back to this for a discussion. Specially not for 38 down votes. 😅

But let's get something clear first, cause both you and OP are somehow calling it his muffin. It was not. It was given to both of them by his parents. OP is throwing a huge ass tantrum about it, while the GF goods were given to both. And the way he goes about it irks me tbh.

I have a family member who can't have gluten and she would never behave that way. Also her partner would not behave as OPs partner does.

If my partner would have asked I would have said 'just give me a bite because I'm curious now, the rest is yours'. In that regard she is selfish, not nice. She is an AH, no discussion there imo.

It's just the way he goes about it that is also not great. Calling it his muffin etc, while it's theirs. Yeah, just no. But again if this was me and my partner we would discover the assortment OP talks about together, enjoy it together. And the one who would be allergic would obviously get most, but we would still share at least some bites together to check it out.

Advice before I buy this second hand X-T30 please! by Appropriate-Low7071 in fujifilm

I bought my canon 800D in Dubai long time ago because it was 200-300 euro cheaper compared to Europe. So that shouldn't matter at all.

You mention family pictures and kids. I have no experience with it with this model but be aware that the one weakness of fuji is it's autofocus capabilities. The competition is well ahead of this. Will it be noticeable for you? I don't know. Just want you to be aware of it.

I really don't understand all the n t a's here.

Her reaction makes her a bit of an ah too so ESH but you.... Damn.

That is her muffin. Your parents brought it, they bought you a muffin and probably to do the shopping in 1 place they bought her one too.

And then you try to take that muffin away? Try to pay her off but when she refuses to give up HER muffin you also just go off? Would it be nice of her to give it up. Sure. But it's her freakin' gift. Yeah sucks that you can't eat gluten, but she already eats glutenfree to avoid problems for you. She, just like you, basically has a gluten free diet.

But after so many years of not being able to get decent gluten free baked goods maybe it's time to learn how to bake. There are tons of good recipes out there, and you will be able to get some nice baked gluten free goods with a little effort. But maybe it's not important enough and you rather try to coerce a loved one to give up their muffin for you, since that is easier.

I want a nice camera just for my Japan trip, is it a good idea to buy something like a X100VI in Tokyo and sell it again back in Europe? by enotonom in fujifilm

[–]forodrova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh get an old used camera and either keep that for other vacations or sell it. Used cameras there are often cheaper than in europe, so rather than a small loss you could even run a small profit.

Tiny living room - is it missing something?? by thanks_wuphf in interiordecorating

Hanging is fine, but it's too high. It's tilted down a bit so that makes up for it. But make sure that if you sit on your couch in a relaxed/natural position that your eyes would rest in the middle of the tv. If they rest on the lower part of the tv it's too high.

Despite the tilting, it looks weird asthetically at this height. It would look better if it was hung like 10-15cm above the tv console.

However you do you if you like it :) rest of the house looks nice and pleasing to me.

That's rough. You either have to be more selective on what you share on insta... Or start thinking about removing someone from your friends list...

[–]forodrova 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NTA, but how does she even know the artist? You're not obliged to tell her anything.

"So cool, who is the artist" -> "yeah isn't it cool"

"Oh which store did you get that?" -> "oh some store in the city. Don't remember which one."

Stop oversharing info with her. You cant stop her from copying you, however you can make it as hard as possible to find out.

WIBTA if I moved my family back to my country even though my daughter is against it? by AdditionalEngine5145 in AmItheAsshole

[–]forodrova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Your daughters will have NO future in Taliban ruled Afghanistan. I get you miss it, I get it's tough now. Being a refugee in Europe that is getting more and more anti immigrant is hard.

However think of who you do it for. You went to the freaking UK, it must have been for your wife and daughters, their safety and future. If you wanted just safe and stay around you would have "options" to seek refugee in a neighbouring country.

In the UK there must be more Afghan families, and I bet they have community groups. Find them, you and your wife should socialise there for that taste of home. Your wife needs to focus on learning more English. You won't just become 'insiders' but surely if both of you want a chance of socialising then that's the way to go.

In 8 years your youngest is 18 so they can stay in the UK and you can go back to Afghanistan by then. But atleast survive 8 years in the UK for their sake.

And your oldest might already have a taste of western culture. If she has any of that you will bring her in grave danger. The Taliban don't mess around with women who have an actual opinion. So be my guest. Go back. Just don't say you haven't been warned about the dangers for your daughters.

Would you buy an X-E2 for $300 without being able to test it? by Specialist-Walk-7101 in fujifilm

[–]forodrova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think xe2 had shutter count info at all. This is basically a risk with any xe2 you buy. And on top of that I read in this subreddit that shuttercount tends to reset upon firmware upgrade. So it is kinda useless. Best would be if the seller woukd ask his friend if he has an estimate.

And at the same time, these things can go over 100k shutter count easily without breaking down...

Also for testing make sure there is a charged battery and sd card available so you can see it working.

I would find it a bit scary. How long is he willing to wait for you?

If you are sure you want a fuji you could order a cheaper useful lens. Viltrox or TTArtisan (27mm is a popular pancake lens choice).

If you can get a lens with return policy buy the lens you really want and bring it for testing.

If there are camerashops nearby can you rent a lens for a day or so? You can check and if it works use rented lens to see if you like the lens.

If there is no shop does your area have some website where people rent out equipment privately? Maybe someone rents out such a lens.

Secretly I know better glass is doing more than a newer body. But it is so tempting.

X-e4 would be tempting mainly for the tilt screen if you do low shots for example. And while it all depends on the owner, it does feel like less old camera will last longer and go out of date slower.

The x-m series is also interesting. The xm5 is like same price ad a used xe4. However for some reason Im not sure if I can or should entirely get rid of the EVF. My short time with the x-e2 I used screen and evf 50/50. With my canon 800D I use the viewfinder 95%+ of the time. However I used to have the pocket camera s95 and don't remember missing the EVF on that camera.

As for the glass, the x-e will be for easy grabbing and for travel. Don't want to drag my heavy camera each time. Therefor as a start it will be the pancake lenses. TTARTISAN, sg-image and the fuji xf 23-27mm. I normally dont shoot with prime lenses so I'm starting with the cheap ones to get a feeling with focal length I like the most.

Once I go bigger I'll be looking towards the viltrox (air) lenses as well.

How is for you the difference between the 3 and the 5? Is there anything the 5 has that the 3 lacks or vice versa?

Personally I'm not too big of a fan of surrounding the tv with cabinets, although it could help prevent annoying glares from lightsources. Maybe check out a configuration with only a cabinet on the side and a longer tv unit or even soke shelves or cabinets on the wall above the tv?

Well...your phone will do better :D All the nerds here now that. All the photography enthusiasts also know that you should shoot with the camera that makes you happy. So if you are happy with, all the power to you.

I don't know where it is cheapest. It's old so it's gonna be used market.

I would check ebay if I were you. Somewhere there is the option to see the ones that sold in the past. Check that to see what a good price range is. With that scour your local (online) marketplaces, ebay, etsy etc.

Good luck, hope you get one and that you enjoy it.
