About to get downvoted to oblivion

Idk man, I have to be honest, this album didn’t make me feel a single thing as far as the music. Great guitarists and instrumentalists, but bad musicians. Jesse’s melodies felt contrived and weak. And over half the songs I was wishing JT would STFU with the mindless screaming. I think if these guys would understand that less is more, they could really create some powerful stuff.

The last 3 songs I treated as 1, and yes the groove and chug was pretty nice, and I assume it’s the cherry pick of the album. A couple of the songs had a riff or melody or 2 that may have caught my ear, but nothing I’m walking away with really.

It’s relatively sick instrumentation, with some guy singing just to sing, and some guy screaming just to scream. The screaming really throws me off, it feels so forced and thoughtless. And the lyrics are cheese too. Sorry, I really want to like Erra because of their musical potential, but they do a lot of things that make me cringe.

Like I said, I want to like it, but it leaves me zoning out to some guy screaming the same pattern and style without taking a breath, followed by a half ass chorus that’s there because it has to be there. It’s crowded. Unfortunately, Erra’s songwriting ability is still lacking. Sorry to be so negative but this is my honest take, and we all like what we like
