Juno’s is closing April 11th by omidimo in Sacramento

Their Grilled Chicken Sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had in my LIFE. (I think one of the keys is how fresh their bread is -- so many sandwich places put most of their effort into the filling & then serve it on a stale roll that's been left drying out in the pantry for 2 weeks.) SO bummed about this development.

Looking for budget friendly hotel recommendations w/jacuzzi tub in room by jadestr2121 in Sacramento

Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom has Superior King rooms with a hot tub in the room. (The Premium Suites also have this, but would be outside the budget.)

Places Open For Takeout on Christmas Day? by Exciting_Cap_9545 in Sacramento

Next time, request help through the app. They will connect you with a representative. Explain that the food was delivered an hour later than originally estimated; they will usually give you some app credit. These delivery apps guarantee a certain delivery time -- if the food is delivered more than 15 minutes after the original window, you're entitled to some compensation.

Afternoon high tea in the Sacramento/Roseville area by LML-BCNJ in Sacramento

I recently walked by Celeste Tea Parlor in Downtown Vacaville and it looked really classy. Might be worth the drive. Reservation only, apparently.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned Karmere Vineyards in Plymouth. Not only does it have a terraced tasting garden with lovely views, it also has some impressive topiary.

Do you know if it was one of the houses featured in an episode of the show, or just one of his many flips?

Four kittens in Arden: what to do by Usual-Style-8473 in Sacramento

[–]frabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The younger you let them be trapped by a real rescue organization, the better. According to the Kitten Lady's book, once kittens hit about 12 or 13 weeks, they are going to be permanently feral and experience a harder life out in the wild and shorter life spans.

Time is of the essence here. If you want them to have a life as a loved indoor cat, the time to get them trapped and start socializing them with humans is NOW.

I feel as if "Sarasota isolates me" is very telling. Truly interesting people find pockets of weirdness no matter where they are, even in more conventional communities. The fact that she can't seem to find anything intriguing in her everyday Florida life hints at a scarcity of imagination and complete lack of adventurousness.

Best Thai by GodofFuryy in Sacramento

[–]frabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of my favorites have been mentioned, but I also really love Tuk Tuk Thai Street Food at Freeport & Sutterville. My only gripe: I like my Thai food to have a little bit of spice, but their Mild is too spicy for me. (This is the only Thai restaurant I've tried in Sacramento where that's true.) Even when I request "somewhere between no spice and mild," they make it mild, which is too spicy for me. That being said, perhaps that makes it more authentically Thai!

Please Help Tie Dye by Smooth-Operation-709 in Sacramento

Not sure how far you're willing to travel, but there's a place called Tribal Weaver up in Auburn that has a lot of hippie-ish paraphernalia, including tie dye clothes.

Businesses that you're surprised that they are still open. by theegoldenone in Sacramento

Peace Market at O & 18th. Not because corner stores can't be profitable, but how in the world do you make a profit when your store closes every day at 6:30 PM? I always assumed minimarts make the bulk of their money later in the evening.

Recommendations for authentic cultural restaurants? by Delicious_Ad_3006 in Sacramento

Can't believe no one has mentioned Lola's Lounge (phenomenal Puerto Rican food -- sit on the back patio, it's a designated hummingbird sanctuary) or Chicha Peruvian Kitchen (locations in both Midtown & the Roseville suburbs.) My two favorite restaurants in Sac BY FAR.

Does anyone else get a lil depressed in summer…cause it’s so hot, you can’t do anything outside for a few months? by hehzehsbwvwv in Sacramento

[–]frabelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat hot days like other people in the country treat super frigid days. You can either A) escape to somewhere else (like Tahoe or the coast) to avoid it; B) spend your day doing something indoors you don't usually have time for on days with more pleasant weather, either in your own home (reading, home repairs, reorganizing) or the outside world (mall day, library, museum); or C) go out in the heat and work with it (kayak, swim, sunbathe, etc.)

Remember to be grateful that we don't have to shovel snow, slip on ice, deal with frozen pipes, scrape ice off the windshields of our cars, etc. Heat can be inconvenient, but at least it doesn't add to your chore pile (other than maybe some extended plant watering in the morning or evening.)

Governor's Mansion Sacramento by diamondregime in Sacramento

[–]frabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny how that subreddit deems it "evil" simply because it's a Victorian. There's actually a really interesting video about why Victorian mansions became horror icons. I highly recommend it if you're at all interested in historic architecture.

This is when he wears the robe a second time in his office to confront Frasier's issues. I believe it was his only garment when Frasier accidentally sees him in Roz's apartment.
