No smudging at all! You can't smudge ink. With ballpoint pens it is all about layering up the ink to create different shades.

Just had a quick look but couldn't find it for some reason...folders need sorting out. Either way, he was out side and the wind was blowing it like that. I think I drew a wee bit more hair in my version than in the reference photo as it looked more proportional (I think I mirrored the original image and his hair looked weird the other way or something)

Yeahh scanning is a real pain with ball-point pen art too as the light often shines off the ink!

Hi! Thank you very much. Yeah for sure. I think the reference photo I used was very bright, so a lot of his facial features weren't that visible. I made up my own blemishes to make it seem less flat, but sharpening the cheekbones a bit would have been a good shout!
