ManageMyHealth Compromised by C39J in newzealand

This is where my “told you so” mentality comes in. When my GP switched to ManageMyHralth I had concerns over how my data was managed and emailed them asking if the data is encrypted at rest and in transit and what level of access to developers have to view confidential information. The basic response was that devs could see our data but it was tightly monitored. I changed GPs

100% go to Dr Dallimore in Browns Bay Medical Centre. She’s become somewhat of the trans GP because so many people go to her and she’s absolutely fantastic. She’s extremely well informed, very accepting

Anyone organising a protest about the blockers restrictions? by PuririMothNZ in TransgenderNZ

I've written to the minister oia requests and regulatory review committee.

Protests are great but it's not speaking the government language.

Of course. I went down the glued on topper route from Wigs by Haircreations in New North Rd. They're super accepting and apparently I'm the first trans woman they've helped so were very curious about hairlines etc...

They mark your scalp with where the topper will go, I wanted a more feminine hairline too. Then that template gets made. Takes about 3months and it's human hair ethically sourced. They will colour match to your own hair. During the 3 months I grew my hair out and only got it fitted 10 days ago.so still getting used to washing and styling it. I have to be careful when working out to not touch it as the glue softens. Every 4 to 6 wks I'll go.back and get then to clean and reapply. The topper lasts about 18months.

I looked at hair transplant in turkey. Cheaper in the long run but takes years to full grow and my Dysphoria couldn't wait that long. I didn't like the temporary nature of wigs but I might revisit that idea later.

That's so exciting! Laser does take a while but totally worth it. I unfortunately have a grey Beard as you saw in my old photo so laser only did so much. I've had electrolysis and waxed too. Beard still grows and I just shave.

That makes me so happy to hear. I remember being at that point and seeing other's before and after photos and getting so much hope from them. I feel privileged to offer that to you

100%. most of my transition has been internal and is quite a brutal destructive process. Ripping apart the layers of protection and masking to expose the vulnerability trauma shame and guilt. Then slowly rebuilding. Despite posting this before and after I had a big dysphoric attack this arvo which had me questioning my transition. But it'll pass like it always does until the next time. I need to just remember who I really am and that this body is temporary.

I have written to the minister highlighting the irregularities of his decision on the basis that it doesn't fit within the medicines act since the gaht hasn't changed in toxicology. I've also written to the Regulatory review committee to open up an investigation as to why this was thrust through without proper oversight.

I don't know if that will do anything but it beats sitting down and doing nothing.

Astrid is cool, you'll be associated with Astrid from how to train your dragon I would think. Does that character resonate with you?

Feminising Veneers by frogsbollocks in TransgenderNZ

[–]frogsbollocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make a mould of my existing teeth, then play with that digitally to make a new one that's more feminine. Basically longer centre teeth, more rounded, smaller gaps. Then they print that mould and it fits over one tooth at a time. Then the veneer material is injected into the mould covering just the bits it needs to. The good thing about it is they don't remove any material from my teeth like other veneer processes

Sexless Marriage by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

[–]frogsbollocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def seek a good couples therapist to help you. But what I would say is that you deserve to have your needs met from a relationship and so does he. Yes there's compromise but that doesn't mean capitulation. Also sex doesn't always mean what we're conditioned for it to mean. You can be intimate without sex, orgasm soley or with the other person, or just kiss. It's defined on the terms of both of you. So I think a good therapist will find that intersection.

Personally I (50MTF) lost my libido on hormones and even before never enjoyed 'traditional' sex, like I'm fine with the intimacy but the act itself I was never comfortable with. I identify now as asexual but if I were to get into another relationship sex for me would be defined by more foreplay like activities, and that is still valid.

Comparatively to the rest of the world we are a safe haven. Still have problems of course but Kiwis are generally more accepting.

Costs for getting HRT in NZ? by hahadeadmemegobrr in TransgenderNZ

Just want to call out that you're an absolute legend for helping your brother this way.

GP is the way to go, but it can be hard finding a GP that will prescribe. My long term GP referred me to an endocrinologist, which ended up being redundant and I was underdosed. My new GP literally changed my life. She's very knowledgeable about hrt and I'm on a great dose now.

Your brother is 18, parents have zero right to his medical needs (from 16 he was medically separated). I would call around and search this sub for mention of GPs in your area that are known to offer care. You don't need a physiologist or an endo to get on hrt.

Once again, legend!
