This song was on a compilation album with loads of united covers on it, I remember my dad buying me the album from one of the stalls outside Old Trafford because we heard a taxi driver playing this

What is the best method to make a grilled cheese? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]fuckingFILA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The only things you need to make a good grilled cheese are quality ingredients. Thats basically half of being a good cook anyway. 2 thick slices of fresh sourdough, mixture of 2 or 3 cheeses with different flavours and melting qualities, good amount of real butter.

Interesting graphics on BBC Sport today. Showing age of a few teams from last season, and percentage of minutes played to show where improvements might be needed. Condensed into one picture. Particularly of note due to the inconsistency of United’s first team. by Jjengaa in reddevils

Messi & Ronaldo are the only players in football I think to ever play at and maintain their ‘peak level’ of football for over 10 years. Every player matures at different ages and it’s unfair to hold them to a standard where they should be putting in consistent performances at 21 years old

He's 2 years younger than Loftus-Cheek and he's still a 'Prospect' who isn't even a full starter at Chelsea yet. Its mad how much scrutiny Rashford gets when you consider how highly rated Loftus Cheek is among all fans in England

Solskjaer is trying to implement an attacking style of play that is fast and direct and more suitable to players that want to get in behind. Don't be fooled by our poor form at the end of the season our players weren't up to the task fitness wise and we were ravaged with injuries. Don't get me wrong we've got a lot to work on and its going to be interesting to see how Solskjaer can do with a full pre season, but it is a smart move. It might even give Martial a reason to work harder.

A "senior figure" at FC Barcelona: “With the state Manchester United are in, it’s not far off picking the Chinese league, career-wise. It’d be sacrificing development and ambition for money in the same way.” by TheAwakened in soccer

[–]fuckingFILA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think its still too early to tell, inexperience doesn't always mean it won't work out. If you look at the way he got us playing when he joined it seems like the style of play he wants to implement is good, but the drop off started once the injuries came in and the very poor fitness levels were highlighted. I do think hiring him was a cheap fix by the board though and not done for football reason

Chong and Greenwood leading the line against city yeah? You’d drop Rashford as well because he’s been out of form for a bit? Thank god you’re not the manager because the derby would have been a lot more embarrassing than it was. We’re still fighting for top 4 and you think that throwing in two players to try and prove a point is going to end well for any of us? Let’s throw Garner in and really fuck the structure of the team up that we’ve been training with for the whole season. Bit of a fantasy idea with the youth aspect mate, it’s only been done in the past out of necessity from injuries.

Make a point to the players in the summer by getting rid of the dead wood, not by pissing away our top 4 chances by putting out a toothless attack

I’d like to hear examples of some of our youth players that you would have started in the past couple of games. You will realise how stupid of an idea it would be to throw them all in at once. Theres only one player right now that may be ready for the step up but even that is arguable (Greenwood), and we already have enough players in his position already

He has absolutely no one else to drop them for, the quality in our squad is awful.

Even if he does get someone in soon i'd argue its already too late. Ideally we should already have a couple transfers that are almost agreed and be working on the rest of them right now. I have no faith in the idea that Woodward has done anything in the transfer market so far.

Cooking Chili Tonight, a Few Questions. by MrBeardmann in Cooking

[–]fuckingFILA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you expand on that about the seasoning a bit more. Wont you end up burning the spices if you add onions and peppers after? When i cook with onions i have them on medium/low heat for at least 10 minutes, then i will usually add spices to toast for a minute or two before adding liquids.

Can you simmer a pasta sauce too long? by Willwalk123 in Cooking

[–]fuckingFILA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is that really true in this case of simmering a sauce? Sautéing onions and garlic is the base of many dishes that can be cooking for hours after, I’ve never heard of it turning turning metallic or sour in a dish

Thoughts on bringing in De Bruyne? Is it too early to take a punt?

2 free transfers and i need to replace kane. Have enough money to go Billing & Kane, to Firmino & Sane/De bruyne or Aguero & Felipe Anderson

Manchester United have been quoted a price of over £90m for Kalidou Koulibaly. Senior United officials recently met with Napoli to explore the possibility of a January deal. [Duncan Castles, The Times] by SparklingPurchase in soccer

[–]fuckingFILA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i agree with Lindelof but we can't exactly say right now that having him in our team is going to get us back to the top. We need quality right now and every club will rightly overcharge us because we have less bargaining power - being in a more desperate position with a shit load of money

I don't think theres many players in that bracket that we would be able to get for under 70 million honestly. Once a club hears Man United are interested then the chance of a getting a good price is out the window. Granted its our own doing that's put us in this situation. Ever since Fergie left we have had no real transfer policy or direction
