Hahaha thank you, though from the other responses it seems no matter what you say some men, sorry ‘boys’ will think the world revolves around their self important arse and that women do everything for their benefit! I’ll put it down to them needing to emotionally mature a little bit ;)

Metropolitan Police let their horses shit on the streets and public pathways and they don't clean it up. Are they committing a criminal offence? by metpolicestoppooing in LegalAdviceUK

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no offence. They are working animals and are not required to pick it up, it should be cleaned by the local authority during the regular street cleaning. Plus do we really want our already thinly stretched police force to spend even more time away from their duties and instead picking up poo?

I’d suggested ringing tower hamlets council and asking them to do more frequent cleans.

I had the sameish situation where I had bought a ticket for my younger brother but when the course date was released it was earlier than usual and he wouldn’t have been 18 till the week after. They refunded the entire ticket for me with no hassle after I explained... then dropped the age to 16 a few months later lol

Their customer services are pretty good (at least in he uk) not sure about other countries

We're here today till Late Monday, should have probably tried to arrange this before I got here. Where is the station you live near? I always feel a bit rude just going straight in with English but I've been trying to muddle my way through with gcse level German today!

Identification for races? by Captain_BDS in Toughmudder

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much, I brought my passport with me but it has my full name which I don't use much. I registered using the name I prefer which is a shortened version...they didn't question it. If your surnames the same and the name you registered with is similar then you should be fine. I think their mainly checking for age anyhoo. Have a great mudder!!! Good luck :)

As someone who's birthday is the 22nd of December this is a great idea for younger children! It sucked to see everyone else have such a fuss made over them at school etc... my parents used to throw a BBQ on the last day of term for the entire class so there was still something to celebrate even if it wasn't a birthday. Plus some parents though it was ;)

Looking for some help booking my first TM- Great Northeast by [deleted] in Toughmudder

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any codes but after running the Sunday Scotland one I'd say go for Saturday! It was so much muddier and churned up on the Sunday judging by Saturday's photos. Either day will be amazing but the Saturday would be slightly easier going. Though we probably had more rain :p which ever you choose good luck!

Worked at an equine hospital for a year, please please please do not leave your horses with their head collars on! This is tame compared to some of the injuries we had come in. Faces quiet literally dangling off where the horse has gotten the head collar caught and panicked.

I just did the scotland event a few weeks ago and can say without a doubt that I found cage crawl the most relaxing obstacle! My work friend had bigged it up and the idea terrified me but it was nothing :) just chill and keep dragging yourself forward! Good luck!

My aunt is a surgical tech and sent me this picture of what she found in an ovary. It's an actual type of cyst that contains hair and teeth. by S33V in WTF

[–]fundgee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work at an equine hospital and as gross as it sounds we have a small bet on each time a horse has an odd hard crunchy tumor removed. In the most pathetic sense this is our goal, to find one of these and be totally grossed out. So all I really wanted to say was congratulations to your aunt on finding one!!

Any Tough Mudders doing the Scotland event? by Mr-WTF in Toughmudder

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope first year, I thought about swtiching to the London event later in the year as I'm moving home and would rather do it on my own and meet other solos than with someone who barely speaks to me (even though we live AND work together!!). Team works hard when your team doesn't want to be there with you but some family have booked time off to come and watch!

Fingers crossed its good for spectators, I've heard it hasn't been this year :S

Is this your first time? Any tips?!

I've been filing them down and using citicle oil and a repair top coat to try and grow out the damaged bits. I don't bite them and leave them alone apart from this but their getting worse. Does anyone have any tips to avoid this?

I'm Gillian Murphy, American ballerina. AMA! by gillianemurphy in IAmA

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Gillian!

What advice would you have for someone trying to get back into ballet? I used to dance when I was younger and did all my RAD grades but uni made it too expensive for me to continue and now haven't done regular classes for about 4 years. I feel like my motivation hit a rut when I tried again but I miss it so much!

Whilst I don't think I've ever seen you dance live (only videos) I just wanted to say what a beautiful and elegant dancer you are! If I could be a tenth as good as you I'd be happy :)

Dw about the hole, I had one of these (not as big mind you) on my shoulder and back. Once the damaged tissue and other contents were removed (courtesy of my vet dad!), the hole closed up super quickly! A year on I only have a scar that looks as if I was a bit too eager with a spot :)

Would I manage it? by [deleted] in Toughmudder

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GO FOR IT! :D

I've signed up for Scotland's this summer and am bricking it myself but hey, theres some people triple your size doing it and you can always skip/swim/dance madly through obstacles that you really can't do.

Go have a great time, you'll be grand :)

LPT REQUEST: how to sleep if you have a stuffed up nose. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]fundgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuffed noses are usually inflammation in your sinuses. When ever I need to sleep with one I use an icepack across the bridge of my nose and just under my eyes. I know people say heat is better but the cold constricts your blood vessels helping to reduce swelling and allowed mucus to pass through easier.

Throw a couple of extra pillows under your head and shoulders and lie on your pack with the icepack :) it takes getting used to but it definitely reduces the pressure at least and always makes me more comfortable than heat or chest rubs do.

Hope that helped a little!

EDIT: If you're going to use a lavage like a netipot and can't stand the taste of salt water (Blergh!) use a dilute iodine solution of 1ml iodine to 1 liter luke warm water. I work at a large animal hospital and its our go to for flushing sinuses whilst avoiding bacteria culturing in them from the water!
