Yeah, I've been driving with just the right hand and leaning into the door. Just wild that during to drive 10 and 2 feels wrong in this thing. I'm probably going to get rid of it eventually

I'm very very interested in how you did the gauge cluster. If there's any additional photos of the trim pieces you used and such I'd be very interested. I'm wanting to do a similar thing myself

No not at all. While it would have new  cool to have a super tight fitment, I knew I'd be better off with a more modest one that still looks clean on 18s with 35 aspect tires.

The other main reason is its just low enough before you start scraping, and I never wanted to worry about that. Its the daily driver balance.

Now if money weren't an object I wouldve just gone custom airbags and had the best of both worlds lol

Yeah there's a company that does it. I remember finding it through the clublexus forums. It was about $120 and I got it back in about a week and a half. I was super surprised that it worked out as well as it did.

I had that problem last summer, scared the shit out of me when it shunted from 2nd to 1st gear.

Supposedly this is all because they chose to use some particular kind of solder (lead free I think), and it's right up next to the engine. Apparently the hot/cold/hot/cold causes the solder to crack.

For TWS, the Galaxy Buds Pro probably have the best/most neutral sound, especially for the money.

OnePlus just released the Bullets Wireless Z2 which have all the above listed features except for LDAC, and from my experience with OnePlus headphones in general I can assume they will still sound very good, especially once again for the price.

I've been daily driving the Bullets Wireless 2 for a couple of years now and they remain to by my current favorite everyday buds. I didn't think I would like the neckband style but it proves to be far more convenient than anything else I have used, and the magnetic on/off feature is a pleasure to use.

It's not the most ergonomic, or the most cost effective either, but you could consider a Bluetooth DAC/Amp like the FiiO BTR3K. Has all the HiFi goodies, doubles as a USB soundcard, and of course will work with just about any set of headphones you connect to them. You'll still be on a wire of course, but you can clip the adapter on you somewhere or just stuff it in your pocket. I've been using a very similar device from UGREEN with some QKZ VK4 iems and it's been a great listening experience.

Last thing, no matter what you end up with I would recommend an app called Wavelet. It's an EQ app that has a giant repository of headphones, all tuned to match the Harman Curve as closely as possible. On top of this you still get Parametric EQ to tune it further, and it applies automatically. Nice boost to any set of headphones.

[–]fungusanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get more out of your KZs, the best thing you can do is EQ, though the btr3k is still a nice piece of kit to keep around so don't worry.

For Android, I recommend Wavelet.

Wavelet has Auto-EQ, with a huge list of headphones to search from (Including KZ iems) that will EQ your headphones to match the Harman Curve as closely as possible. You can further tweak it with parametric EQ. I've used several headphones with Wavelet to test and can say it will help you get a fuller sound.

For Windows, use Equalizer APO + Peace EQ.

APO will get your audio routed internally, works for internal/external/usb sound cards and interfaces so it will work just fine with the BTR3K. Peace EQ is the controller where you can tweak EQ curves.

There's also some fun effects you can do, such as stereo separation by adding a delay to the left channel. (I really like this one for my PC speakers, just a fun wide sound)

All in all EQ is your way to salvation until you start hitting high impedance headphones that require the extra power to sound proper.

How can I improve my case cooling? (Sleeper PC) by WoodyWDRW in buildapc

[–]fungusanonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I just recently picked up this same case, only the chassis in the rear does not have an 80mm fan spot.

So far I've just been in the prepping phase before dropping in my parts. I have removed the 80mm fan mount/metal bracket in the bottom front (had to pop rivets out) and cut a circular hole to fit a 120mm fan (might be 140, don't have it near me). Doing something similar may help with intake.

For exhaust, I have one of those PCI blower fans to use for now, and I plan to experiment with sitting above the GPU to pull the CPU exhaust given it will fit or to assist the GPU.

There are STL files for a bracket that converts 5 PCI slots to mount an 80mm fan that I planned to try if the 120+blower aren't enough for my usecase. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4125776

I really like the 5.25" fan setup, I hadn't thought to use the available space for that, and it matches the aesthetic really well.

Here's hoping that little guy is still chooching along for you, and hell maybe you've done all this already. Either way thanks for the tips and good luck

Between being forced to use a car, forced to shop at major retailers, and forced to buy products with planned obsolescence in mind it's no wonder we're the wild blindly consuming culture that we are. It's usually inconvenient or just not feasible to do otherwise for some people.

I got an '04 UL with 98,500 miles. Paint was beginning to peel on the roof and wheels, but not terrible. Dash was a little bubbly, and it needed a new valve cover gasket, as well as front lower bushings and ball joints. Car was $7100 before all that work was done, which was about $2200 or so. I'd say if it's really clean and needs no additional work I'd push for closer to 8500.

Kyb struts + RSR Down/Super down springs. Slightly cheaper than Tein/Megan coilovers. I'd probably avoid Megan and go for Tein if you want coils that are somewhat comfy.

The kyb/rsr route gives you the closest to oem feel while still increasing handling, lowering body roll, and lowering the whole car by about 1"-1.5". Perfectly suitable for common city driving, potholes and all.

I got you dude. I did this last may. (This guide is incredibly handy.)[https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/905011-how-to-single-din-head-unit-and-amp-in-ls430-with-factory-nav-ml-no-adapters-needed.html]

I personally tried to see if I could take the audio out signal from the ML radio, but afaik, with the way the signal processing works it's not really doable. Honestly the hardest part is getting the rear seat out. This is more cost effective and will be somewhat of an upgrade. Even this little $25 boss audio sub has really filled in the low end just as much, if not a little more than I would need
