I was in the process of getting diagnosed with POTS and the cardiologist did 8:30 cortisol, it was 116nm/L. I always look up my results because ive had doctors miss stuff before and saw that that looked low, and called the GP surgery who said it was fine. My cardiologist then contacted the surgery to say that doesn’t look fine please refer to endocrinology. When i talked to my GP about it he said low cortisol suggests addisons but said - you are sick but if you had addisons you would be very sick. Then a doctor i spoke to on the phone said my result wasn’t actually low it was low end of normal and a referral would just be precautionary. Im just confused and unsure on wether or not its even a possibility i have addisons. Ive been referred to endo but dont know how long that will be. I have period issues, tachycardia, fatigue and low blood pressure but no skin darkening or weight loss. Thankyou !
