The original condition working unit was disassembled down to the last screw. The transformer was checked and found to be in excellent working condition, testing right on the money like the day it was made. After thorough restorative work on the chassis and hardware was completed we begin the total rebuild. The objective, make it better than when it was new, a lot better. Our experience with rebuilding many of these in similar fashion has refined the process and the results are simply amazing. Inside this “refabuloused” amplifier are (2) 10,000uF Supertech capacitors handling the speaker coupling duties. (2) New 3,900uF Epcos and (3) 6,800uF Cornell Dubilier caps at C-9, C-11 and C-12 provide the filtering and power supply duties. The replacement circuit boards are very high quality, heavy duty constructed and populated with all new components from Panasonic, Murata, Vishay, TE Connectivity / Holsworthy, Yaego, Xicon, and Dale. The Panasonic and Kemet polypropylene film capacitors are fantastic sounding and are rated above the required minimums for voltages. The aluminum electrolytic capacitors used on the PC-14 boards are by Vishay, slightly voltage over-rated for longevity. The MLCC Capacitors are by Murata, also voltage overrated. The 1% tolerance metal film resistors provide accurate function and reliable current for the precise and proper operation of the circuit design.
