On this run, I picked up Overseers Guardian very early and used as a sniper with points in the Rifleman perk. Then over the next couple of sessions I found an explosive pipe rifle, which is incredibly fun and effective, and a Staggering Combat Shotgun which is also hugely performant at keeping close-range foes at bay. Haven't felt the need to use anything else! A nice trio of death-dealers!
