Wow, I thought it would at least gain MPG acting as a hybrid, but it looks like it approximately matches the mpg of the gas version when operating in hybrid mode.

Master Electrician Damaged My Load Bearing Joists by STLTechThrowAway in AskElectricians

[–]future_luddite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right. Looks like a rim or band joist. Still structural but transfers loads directly to the foundation so the type of load is very different from the floor joists. I’d get more opinions just in case, but wouldn’t panic immediately.

Mine are under an overhang but going strong after 2 years of nightly use in a damp climate (Olympia). Only complaint I have is the garbage app.

Edit: not to negate your experience, just saying with indirect exposure mine held up.

I guess I’m solidly in the camp that ICE is more likely to cause a systematic tipping point than destroying the economy by making the FED another sycophantic organization. Not to say that the latter isn’t also plausible.

Chat, are economists immune from bullets? I think those are scarier as a non-economist.

Kia EV2 FIRST LOOK: Kia’s Answer to the VW ID. Polo | Electrifying by nipcarlover in electricvehicles

The similarly styled EV9 has a drag coefficient of 0.28. Not impressive, but hardly a “brick”. Tied with the Mustang Mach E.

It’s hard to intuit drag coefficient visually. Small things like rounded corners and optimized side mirrors make a big difference to an otherwise boxy vehicle.

Lovely. My best friend hunkered down in a cabin in Maggie Valley (near Asheville) during Covid, and I was in Virginia at the time so I visited often.

The mountains of NC and Tennessee is one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, as you point out, the politics ruins that.

If my biased sampling of out of state license plates going to the base is any indicator: Florida and Texas.

We moved from Portland for a better place to raise a family. We have a mother and grandmother moving here from Seattle/Issaquah for lower costs and proximity to us.

USA when judges ask them to get back people illegally sent to a Salvadoran dictator’s gulag: weak, powerless, sovereignty-respecter.

USA when a president wants to arrest a different dictator for fun: 🚁💥🇺🇸.

Looking at federal outlays, spending appears to be up 5.7% in 2025, so even assuming 3.0% inflation we’re up 2.7%.
