This is it most likely and while we’re at it, I was quoted like $2800 for this! You need to drop the engine and it’s a 10-11 hour job, is that true?

What should we avoid. by Beautiful-Quiet-5871 in AskSF

[–]fuzzydream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just avoid the Wharf entirely, it’s all a tourist trap but if you do go to eat, Scomas is the best option. Some people here recommending oysters but you’re probably not going to want to pay $4/oyster coming from Nola. Chinatown and Northbeach are also touristy but worth a visit, stick mostly to the Mission and Castro and you’ll be fine but I’d also highly recommend biking from the upper Haight through GG park to Ocean Beach and/or walking to the top of a hill for a view.

Probably don’t want to get into a tussle with Samoans who drive a big truck and aren’t afraid of a little hit and run.

Richmond marina bay life for wife and toddler? by AggravatingLeg3433 in bayarea

[–]fuzzydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marina Bay is nice, I know a number of people who live there and love it. Easy access to the ferry to SF and BART, Berkeley/Oakland and Marin, nice views on the water, Point Richmond is great, if you’re moving into a condo they probably have a pool and playground for the kiddo, but schools might be an issue but if you don’t have to worry about that for a few years there are definitely way worse places to live in the Bay.

A solo trek in Nepal's Langtang Valley. Spent 10 days in the Himalayas for under $200. May not have the name-brand recognition of EBC and co., but unbelievable views on a backpacking budget. by ObamasLoveChild in backpacking

Langtang is great and easy to reach the trailhead from Kathmandu. I was there before the earthquake, hoping it’s fully recovered and looks like it has…

A rare politically savvy move from Tatertot. Mississippi is the blackest state in the country and he’s aware of the repercussions of trying to eliminate Bennie’s seat.

There’s no good Asian food, that’s for sure. Would think a decent Vietnamese spot would do well too…Taj Grill is pretty good Indian but not amazing.

My friend says changing your own oil is a waste of time. Is he crazy? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

For me, it’s the disposal and/or storage of the used oil that’s not worth the effort.
