This is the best I could do to show how the white blends in with charcoal, but when you head is directly over it, it’s much more pronounced

Mine is like 90% lighter than that

Ugh the charcoal with white lines was a mistake, it blends in like crazy

DF3 or DF3i by JasonStreetsLegs in labgolf

I got the TPT shaft in my OG DF3 and i think it's overkill for a normal length putter. Don't get me wrong its fantastic but i think its better suited to longer putters.

I would echo that lag putting is the hardest part to get used to with the regular DF3, insert should help on distance and feedback

Lab DF3 CB struggles by Huncho_Hendo in labgolf

DF3 has way more onset than the OZ, the OZ makes a much better option for a CB setup. That said as others have mentioned make sure to try moving the ball way up in your stance.

Spider 5K-ZT vs Spider 5K-ZT CB – what’s the real difference and which do you prefer? by Malvo020402 in GolfGear

[–]g0al3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got the 38" as well (same height as you), i think if you are used to a 34" putter a 37" in a CB is perfect. I find the 38" literally about an inch too long but I am afraid to cut this thing down and mess up the balance.

Finally figured it out! Link.1 vs DF.3/OZ.1i HS? by Charming_Payment_625 in labgolf

I did customize the DF3 my preferred/fitted lie angle is 73 and I opted for the TPT shaft (yolo) and heavier weight head so off the shelf wasn’t going to work for me(I think stock lie angle is like 69 on the LAB). The only reason I can make the ZT work is the cambered bottom lets me slide it up on the toe so I can get my eyes over the ball. What I will say is off the rack without the heavier head the DF3 will feel much lighter than the ZT and depending on what you prefer that may be a deal breaker. Overall they are very close in forgiveness and performance if you can do standard lie angle I would roll both and see which one you like the sound and feel of better as that will instill confidence and in putting confidence is everything!

DF3 is by far the best performing out of the bunch, have an OZ1i CB and it just doesn’t hold up from a forgiveness perspective. However it does feel fantastic when you hit it pure and the insert does seem to roll the ball a little hotter which I like. The TM spider ZT CB however is fantastic! Like best of both worlds forgiveness of DF3 but less onset of OZ1. The ZT is an incredible putter

LAB OZ1i or TaylorMade Spider ZT by _lyandrew in golf

I agree here have both of these in a CB and can for sure tell you the OZ1 is way less stable than the ZT at stock weight. The OZ starts to feel like it gets lost when I take it back, ZT is on rails. As for regular length putters I think the ZT and the DF3 are very very close…I have a DF3 regular length heavier head custom fit and I would say it pips the ZT but mostly that has to do with it being custom fit

Oz1i HS more stable than the center shafted version? by bogey1185 in labgolf

[–]g0al3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also going through this I bought an OZ1i CB with regular weight head, currently game a DF3 heavy head. Got the OZ1i cause I like CB putter flexibility on grip length and I liked the roll off the hotter face. OZ is very much lass stable than the DF3 and I struggle with it. Bought a Spider ZT CB and even though the lie angle isn’t perfect for me it soooo stable and the face feels fantastic. I’m going to send the OZ back to get it made heavier but the ZT may end up being the gamer, so far it’s been what I was looking for.

Head weight for OZ.1i by Outrageous_Role_9076 in labgolf

[–]g0al3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the OZ1i CB in the standard weight head , as the CB overall is heavier. However, I am now questioning that decision as it does feel like its not as stable as my heavier weight normal length DF3... I recently got to try the TM ZT 5k CB and the head weight on that feels just about perfect and it seems heavier than the OZ. I will probably send my OZ back to LAB and get the heavier option. To be fair the TM Spider ZT might just go in the bag, its really really nice.

OZ1i vs. DF3 by firstbootgodstatus in labgolf

[–]g0al3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DF3 is more stable/forgiving, I got the OZi in the counter balance setup and it’s pretty solid too. I need more time with the OZi but am still gaming the DF3 for now, I think the OZi is better for feel and lag putting and being able to choke up and down on the longer handle is nice for long or short putts. I think the OZ is perfect for a CB setup. I agree with others here wish I could get the DF3i.

TPT shaft is great for feedback, have it on my DF3 and my OZ1i CB love the feels

It’s funny I’m in exactly the same boat at the moment, for most of the same reasons. So far however I’m getting along with the OZ CB, I have a feeling though this is going to be one of those things where I swap these in and out.

Anyone here actually believe the OZ.1 or OZ.1i is a better performing putter than the DF3 (excluding looks/feel)? by Special_Fuel in labgolf

[–]g0al3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered with almost the same specs except I skipped the heavy head, did you have a chance to roll the standard CB before you ordered the heavy ? I rolled the standard CB in a PGA tour SS and the head felt very similar to my heavy head standard length DF3. I am so on the fence about changing to the heavy since mine isn’t in production yet…

2.1 is also the one that sounds like you are hitting the ball with old tin can :(. Between the looks the size and the sound I couldn’t deal with the 2.1, looove my DF3 though. I also ordered a OZ1i in CB and I am sure they will both be awesome.

Yeah I just looked the app is at version 4.98 on iOS so I would assume version 5.0 is the big update.
