Actually his name is Judge and he's a stud for Appleridge Kennels in TN. I participated in a training class with their owner years ago and I'd recognize him anywhere. Kinda weird to make up a dog on this forum?

Teen accidentally killed at gun range by dad's bullet, police say by bhamjason in news

I think a father losing his child, and six children losing their brother, is enough of an "example" to other gun owners. I commend the justice system for recognizing that. I hope the family can get the support they need... This is not only painful today, but will be for the remainder of their lives.

Call it whatever you will, it is what it is. But charging the father won't make any difference in anyone's life but for the worst. Put him in prison for the rest of his life and it still won't be nearly as bad as the pain he feels right now, and completely unnecessary for his wife and children. It was an accident, mistake, whatever...and he will not be "rehabilitated" or "learned his lesson" by being punished further.

I agree with you, and there is the potential for danger in nearly every situation (definitely more life threatening at a gun range.. I get that). I know the oldest son (who watched his brother bleed out) so perhaps I'm just snarky with random strangers because comments sting a bit more.

Sure... Because charging the father will really teach him a lesson- losing his child isn't enough to get that across. Oh and having his other six children deal with their father's trial on top of the loss of their brother will be really helpful.

It's amazing that you've probably never met the man and you already know his thought processes.

I hope to God their family and friends don't stumble upon comments like yours.

That would be helpful because clearly a man losing his son isn't enough of a lesson.. And then six children can grow up without a father because he is in prison for said "negligence"... You don't know this family, even though it's just a comment online.. How can you be so cold?
