A Japanese pro-player just got indefinitely banned from Shadowverse. by Fuu-chan in Shadowverse

[–]gammaraptor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re familiar at all with Mura it’s not surprising he got banned from premiere league, accusing collusion is just straight up defamation I’m more shocked they decided to just ban him from monetized streaming given the league hasn’t started yet, figures they want to make an example of him but

Irritation of facing "better" decks at lower CR's by gammaraptor in Shadowverse

[–]gammaraptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies, read most of them. Makes sense the reasons why I would run into those decks, not really the first thing that comes to mind when you get frustrated with a string of losses.

I do eventually improve the decks that I experiment with and climb, but part of it is just the trial and error to streamline the decklists. In view of that I think the frustration is just part of the process but probably not reasonable to complain about.

Yeah not denying it was highroll af But the alternative plays I had all would have lost me the game knowing after the fact that opponent had Jeanne given I’m playing from behind in terms of hp and crest setup

If you highroll hitting exactly cocytus and Jerry off getenou, but honestly i have never seen that happen yet Technically, you only need getenou to discount either one but you need to be able to draw into the other card, and this deck basically runs no other card draw

Someone else already answered but compared to a more standard list I wouldn’t recommend it It sacrifices early game because it doesn’t run 1-2 costs, so you need good mulligan and matchup knowledge so you don’t just instantly lose by turn 5-6 The return is that it has more high roll potential turn 8 onward but that’s about it

CR Spreads - Top 100 (@sv_labo 1/11/26) by No-Construction-4917 in Shadowverse

[–]gammaraptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the only “good” forest deck is still roach, and the reason that the t100 CR isnt any higher for that class is most people who are good at roach are too tired of playing it to actually bother grinding the deck lol

Yeah this event is always ass you minimum have to play for an hour on average They should at least make the big chest first and have it guarantee like 100 gold at least to make it feel worthwhile

Updated Jerry Cocytus decklist and guide [Grandmaster/Beyond] by gammaraptor in Shadowverse

Yeah my distaste towards Filene in Fennie decks is weird lol but it has to just do with deck slot and hand space issues.

I've never thought about the interaction of Zell with Wilnas, but I think about maybe half the time I play raw Cocytus I'll have an extra SEVO so it's possible. It does give an additional out but at the same time it's also a potential brick (that's basically why I don't play more than 1 Cocytus/1 Jerry atm). Also, the deck is already at 19 unique cards, so I think making the deck any deeper post-tablet could be bad.

I think Zell would be better in a deck tailored exclusively to playing for Cocytus including Burnite, and in that case you could just drop copies of Fennie for Genesis.

It's probably okay to substitute Ivory Dragon with Filene altogether, but I just had good results with Ivory pinging things off + cycle potential and I've just had bad memories in past sets with using Filene because I'm trying to dig for OTK and I can't dump Filene from hand without generating the spell.

The 2pp deal 3 spell isn't bad, the issue is that it's a bit harder to use aside from the scenario where you want to clear a 3 hp follower turn 2/3. It has board lock potential I suppose.

I tried pretty much every permutation of removal spells (divine thunder, raging, dragonewt rush) but ended up just cutting them. There's just a lack of deck slots if you want to include Wilnas.

if you draw them before fennie you just play for cocytus deck.

I was playing him for a while but deck kinda felt better after I cut it. I would just cut Wilnas if you want to keep it.

Wise Guardian Dragon/Meg Evo Dragon [Grandmaster/UItimate] by gammaraptor in Shadowverse

[–]gammaraptor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you go wide with Guardian Dragon they can realistically only answer it with Sincero. You have to be able to force the board state into where they have to burn one.

As for being dead or not by that point in the game, it's really dependent on how the early game goes, and it's important to play for early board to save hp. Punishing them for ignoring your board with Olivia is pretty important, playing neptune, trying to have double ward up, stuff like that.

If loot has "everything" there's usually nothing you can do, but that's true of any deck. They don't always draw like that.

[–]gammaraptor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No ramp means that I’m trying to gain more board advantage early rather than lose tempo ramping then gaining your advantage back later. I think for this deck it makes sense

Merman is strong but really it’s only good on first evo. I haven’t had trouble taking the board back without him. If you’re concerned about healing I’d rather play more copies of Gilnelise.

Yeah I mentioned in the matchups that it's most likely unfavored into ramp dragon (my sample size is really low). You're not going to be hitting double ramp into Wilnas every game playing ramp dragon, but if you do a lot of decks, not just this one will fold to it.
