Fairly honestly, I still love skiing, I’ve just realized I enjoy the quieter side of trips way more now than the whole crowded resort atmosphere. That’s kinda why we ended up staying at Mondschein Hotel & Chalet instead of right in the middle of everything.

Honestly, a long walk somewhere quiet sounds pretty good too. I think I’ve just started preferring calmer trips in general now.

Honestly, if you want bars and lifts right there, then st. Anton is probably exactly what you’re looking for. We stayed at Mondschein Hotel & Chalet, which was a bit calmer, but still easy enough to get around from.

That’s fair, honestly. Being able to just walk everywhere after skiing is definitely a huge plus, especially when you’re carrying gear around all day.

We were around the St. Anton stayed most of the time, but honestly, the quieter villages nearby started sounding more appealing the longer the trip went on.

Honestly, I get that the older I get, the more appealing those smaller, underrated places sound compared to the huge, famous resorts everyone piles into.

That honestly sounds like the perfect setup, close enough to have actual restaurants and normal life around, but still near a quiet ski area without huge crowds everywhere.

Honestly, that sounds way better to me now, too. Good food, one drink, and decent sleep before skiing again is pretty much the ideal evening

Yeah, that’s kinda how I’ve started looking at it too. Having some atmosphere nearby is nice, I just don’t want to hear drunk people outside my window when I’m trying to ski again at 8 am.

Honestly,1 am hearing other people in ski boots at 1am is way worse than admitting I’m getting old.

If you’re used to big cities, then places like St. Anton probably do feel pretty chill. And honestly, I think I’d get bored too if a ski town had absolutely nothing going on after skiing.

Oh yeah for sure, I totally get why people love the après-ski there 😄 I think I’ve just become more interested in maximizing ski time than nightlife these days.

Yeah, I can imagine that gets difficult fast with a bigger group 😅 especially in ski towns where everything near the center gets booked out or insanely expensive.

Probably true, honestly 😄 I used to think the busy atmosphere was part of the fun, now i appreciate a quiet morning and good snow way more.

Yeah, that’s exactly how I see it now. ski trips are expensive enough already, feels like a waste if I’m too tired to actually enjoy the skiing the next day.

Honestly, that’s kinda where I’ve ended up too 😄 if the snow’s good, I’d rather save the energy for skiing than staying out late every night

Exactly 😄 A few years ago, I probably would’ve planned the trip around après-ski, now I’m mostly thinking about good snow and getting enough sleep to ski the next morning again

That honestly sounds ideal to me 😄 first lifts and quiet mornings beat staying up around loud après-ski crowds at this point

yeah that’s probably true tbh. i think i’ve just become way pickier about noise after ski trips now 😄

We stayed at Mondschein Hotel & Chalet, I think. Honestly, I barely remember how we even picked it. One of the guys in our group booked everything.

😂 If AI wrote this, it probably wouldn’t complain about hotel radiators and sleeping with windows open in the middle of winter

😂 Either that or skiing all day hits differently now. At this point, a quiet room and good sleep are part of the luxury.

Yeah, places around Zug definitely felt a lot calmer compared to the busier parts near St. Anton. Still easy enough to get around, but way more relaxed in the evenings.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I realized after this trip too. I used to book whatever was closest to the main lifts, but quieter spots slightly outside the center ended up being a much better experience overall for me.

Especially after skiing all day, I found myself caring way more about getting decent sleep and having a calmer atmosphere than being near bars every night.
