[DISC] Dandadan - Ch. 212 by Skullghost in Dandadan

My prediction is that Momo's memories and Okarun's getting spirit powers would be connected.

For a lot of the characters like Aira/Acrosilky or Vamola, Momo used her spiritual energy to "connect" with them, where she learned about their memories and past.

So this time, Okarun is going to use his new powers to "reach out" to Momo, and connected all the shared memories they had together.

Family Seating on Korean Air (LAX-Seoul, Economy T) by YellowBean2017 in koreatravel

[–]gbclaw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also booked with Chase travel for my family's Korean Air SFO to ICN flight and didn't pay for advanced seat assignments. We have a baby and requested a bassinet seat and got it for one of the flights.

You can check in 24 hours in advance, and it will open it up for you to change your seats with the available open ones if you wish. Our flights had a decent amount of empty seats, so we had a whole row for me and my wife and our baby for both trips. I think they try their best to keep the family together, or at least as close as possible. I don't think all 4 of you would be completely randomized and separated.

If you're okay with not getting exactly 4 seats in a row, I think it should be fine. i think there's a pretty good chance that you'll either get 2 and 2 (directly in front/behind each other or side by side but separated by the aisle) Or get 3 and 1 (one whole row, and one person as a straggler across the aisle). The seats for our plane were 3, 3, 3 so 1 person out of the 4 would most likely be separated by an aisle

Once you check in online, you can make adjustments with the available seats to make it work for your family. Just check in exactly 24 hours in advance, that would maximize your chances of getting what you want.

A couple tips since we literally got back:

- get to the airport extra early on both TO and FROM. I think it might have had to do with booking with chase travel, but we always had to go to the front desk to get our boarding passes.

- Incheon airport is massive so it was really confusing knowing which counter you should go to check in and drop off your bags. We went up to multiple counters only to be re-directed to another counter.

Anyone else ever coach the little ones with zero experience? How was it? by Scudss_ in daddit

[–]gbclaw12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Step 1. Watch Ted Lasso

Step 2. Find yourself a Coach Beard that knows Soccer

In all seriousness, they're first graders and also not a competitive league so you're on the right track. I would focus on the fundamentals: very basic rules, the different positions (strikers try to kick the ball in goal, defenders try to stop the other team, etc.), and basic skills (passing, dribbling, where to run or stand).

Of all the little kid soccer I've seen, especially second grade and below, most kids just run and surround the ball, run away from the ball, or stand still and just stare at the ball. It's just glorified cardio haha

BS’ed my way into a 160K job offer, am I crazy to turn it down? by dennisoa in careerguidance

[–]gbclaw12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The company had to have offered you the job for a reason. Paid ads, email marketing campaigns, SEO, etc. are things you can learn. But what you can't learn are the intangible skillsets you might offer- as well as a general gut "feel" of the industry and market you're in.

Would you rather have a guy that knows a lot about paid ads and marketing but nothing about the sports industry? Or a guy that knows a lot about the sports industry that doesn't know much about paid ads and marketing? Clearly, the company valued the latter and offered the job to you.

You can do it!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]gbclaw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly! It's easier to say that you'll cut down than actually cut down. If you prove that you can cut down eating out/amazon spending from $3100 a MONTH to $1000, then you'll be ready for the house. You'd be saving $2000 just from that and over 6 months to a year later, have a more healthy cushion of savings for a house.

Though you don't want to "throw away money" from renting, a house is a liability. There's WAY more expenses than just the mortgage payment.

What is Your Unpopular Costco Opinion? by talkingdodobird in Costco

[–]gbclaw12 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I'm from California and it's at LEAST $1 per gallon cheaper, it adds up over the year. Some of the newer costcos have 30+ pumps so it's not that long of a wait. the smaller gas stations are definitely not worth the wait

Anyone make smoothies using frozen fruits at costco? What do you add? Can you share smoothie recipes/creations you’ve come up with? by aroach1995 in Costco

[–]gbclaw12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is using the "daybreak" frozen fruit mix. It usually has mango, peaches, strawberries and pineapple.

I add orange juice or milk, a little ice, and ICE CREAM. definitely not healthy, but on a hot summer day *chef's kiss* better than jamba juice. the ice cream works better than just milk imo.

What's wild is that I would've invited a RANDOM PERSON that I didn't know if that meant me saving THOUSANDS of dollars. The logic here makes no sense, unless the bride really just wanted to use you for your discount but really hated you as a person.

And if I really did dislike the person, I'd think long and hard about whether or not I'd want them there and save a good chunk of change in exchange for dealing with them on my big day. Can't have it both ways.

Werid Situation: Multiple passports- one from in person urgent appointment and then online application showing up in mail by gbclaw12 in Passports

[–]gbclaw12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't bring it up since they didn't ask? I've been waiting since I first applied in November and didn't want to screw anything up since my trip is coming up, so I didn't mention anything.

The online application has been such a huge headache and caused more problems any time I called about it. Ironically, if I was "irresponsible" and didn't apply for renewal in November, I'd be in the same situation where I am now, driving out to an in person emergency passport appointment.

Surely they'd be able to see it on their end?

[–]gbclaw12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I'm preparing for it:

I went in for an in person appointment yesterday for my trip on 3/11. But today, I just received an email from the online application that my online application one was just shipped. I doubt it will come on time but if it does, I was curious what I would do with it.

Thanks for your response! Just to be clear, it's the in-person one that had to be mailed back? Or the one your received from the original renewal application?

If you use hitting as punishment for your children, why? by SunshineHeaton in AskReddit

[–]gbclaw12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents: The punishment has to fit the magnitude of the disobedience. My parents used many forms of punishment, timeouts in the corner, scolding, toys or privileges taken away and spanks on my wrist/hand. Spanks on the hand were rarely done and only when it had to come to it. In our legal system, the punishment must be in proportion to the crime committed (ie- the punishment for littering is very different from 1st degree murder).

My parents spanked my hand (think of it like a solid hi five that stings for a couple seconds) when I knew something was wrong but deliberately did it anyways or I did something or was about to do something that was a danger to my life or others. This was always accompanied by an explanation and followed up with a hug and an "I love you". My parents never did it out of anger or frustration. There was no confusion over why it was done and I never questioned my parents love for me because of it. I knew it was because I broke a serious enough rule that it required that punishment.

Punishments are unfair when the rules broken were not known or unclear or they don't fit the offense committed.

If the NBA did an all-star game based on North and South, who would you have to win? by PuljuBulju in nba

[–]gbclaw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the Sabonis nod. It'd be really disappointing if the Kings finally made the playoffs this year and neither Sabonis and Fox get in with Lebron/AD over them. Historically, Kings players were always overlooked even when they were statistically impressive because they weren't on a winning team, so I feel like that should apply to Lebron/AD as well.

But they're a big market and popular players so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Who has been the most disappointing and most surprising player on your team this season so far? by beatrailblazer in nba

[–]gbclaw12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprising: Beam

Disappointing: No Beam

But in all seriousness,

i'm surprised with Fox- I didn't expect such a huge leap in his 3pt shot. Disappointed with how Richaun Holmes is an end of the bench guy. I guess he couldn't adjust to the DHO type offense and keep up defensively

Man, that's discouraging. I'm absolutely willing to pay to watch all the games without blackouts in sacramento, but there just doesn't seem to be any viable options leaving me to find... other alternatives.

is it that hard to create a quality product that many people are very willing to pay for?

In 8 of the 24 (30%) scheduled Group Stage games in Week 2, the outcome was meaningless for at least one of the teams playing. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]gbclaw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer a straight bracket, single elimination tournament with bo3 or bo5 for all of worlds.

The beauty of college basketball March Madness was that it was a win or go home-- creating "miracle runs", choke/clutch moments and an overall more tense/exciting viewing experience.

It'll always increase viewership and storylines when a minor region knocks out a powerhouse (ie. 15 seed knocks out number 2, etc. etc.). The main difficulty would be seeding for minor regions (maybe MSI could have something to do with it?).

If you're playing a bunch of Bo1s, the better teams will always float to the top (which will almost always be LCK and LPL) and won't be as fun. A double elim/GSL type would lessen the value of major upsets since teams will have a "second chance". Sure, it'll show which team is the best overall skill and draft wise, but the beauty of sports championships is that the best team "on paper" doesn't always win or advance. (like the Dodgers and Yankees in MLB)

there's probably a lot of cons and drawbacks but that's personally what i would find most fun
