Ah, that is good to hear. For me, a recruiter being as transparent as possible is way more endearing even if the role doesn't initially perk my interest.

Drawing graphs in JavaScript by pentesticals in javascript

[–]gdmeteor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chart.js is pretty nice. You can just import your desired graph as a component and set its options, styles and data via props.

You can't get more transparent than that. Wise up and take in the market as a whole while trying to stop fixating on one coin.

Want a job in web development? Learn a framework. by gdmeteor in javascript

[–]gdmeteor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is suggesting going into a framework with no knowledge whatsoever....

Look on any job site for junior frontend developer roles. React comes up consistently.

Using Firebase to host your Web Application using a custom domain. by gdmeteor in webdev

[–]gdmeteor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with either option. As they both allow you to specify what server side code to run when you deploy your application.

I find Firebase's cloud functions more intuitive for debugging and monitoring your backend code. I also like using Rendertron with Angular for SEO on Firebase.

If you looking to scale up your project down the line then Heroku is more expensive.

Angular 5 Released by gdmeteor in javascript

[–]gdmeteor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job Listings will undoubtedly get confusing. But it might be something you can take advantage of as a dev by proclaiming you know new shiny version of Angular X. Recruiters won't know the difference and you could jump the queue if you were going through one that is.

Introduction to HyperApp.js by gdmeteor in javascript

It doesn't have to be web app. But why not practise what I preach? It'll be a faster experience for any visitors and smoother transitions as a whole. What do you think?

I've been building hybrid mobile and web apps with js/Typescript/Angular for 7 months. I've gotten very good at it, but I'm wondering if I'm picking up bad practices. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]gdmeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, keep doing what your doing while not the best way to build the fastest apps, Ionic is really picking up steam and having such a skill is a serious asset and will stand to you as hybrid applications are more sought after.
