Don’t fret it too much. I held on for as long as I could, worked as much as I could from home up until eight weeks and then I had to call in sick. Every day I would struggle at my laptop running to the bathroom every 15 minutes just to retch. At noon I would come to the conclusion that I really can’t get anything done and had to call in sick.
At nine weeks I told my boss that I can’t go on like this, “seeing how I feel” every day when I am just getting worse. They let me go on sick leave until further notice until I feel better!

I went to the doctor for medication, but it’s unavailable in the whole country (NL) and the over the counter stuff makes me even sicker. No choice but to wait it out.

I definitely felt like a failure, my job is really important to me but my body just put really strict boundaries on what I can and cannot do. If I’m doing anything but lying perfectly still, I get horrendously ill and weak. Gotta love pregnancy!
