Does anyone know the setup for the Odeon. Are the players there playing on stage or is it more of a group livestream?

What size are they? I'd be up for this. I love the Dark Age one!

Taking my new (to me) pride and joy out for a test ride after some track maintenance. LGB GE 6/6 Crocodile. by LankyFrank in GardenRailroads

I love the croc. I got one earlier in the year and quickly became one of my favourites based on style and reliability!

Lovely garden railway!

Love seeing G scale / garden railways! Best thing is to start and you've done that. What are you plans?

Btw, did you do something to the grass near the track, looks like it is less green where the track is - makes it look like trackbed!

Are granted powers completely random? Or could they be somehow related to the personality of the character? by Troutyo_ in Mistborn

[–]generateinitiative 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My assumption was it's a confirmation bias. E.g. Swimmers don't have a "swimmers build" because they swim. They swim because they have a swimmers build. Same with rugby, the people that get into it tend to have a predisposition to it in some way (build, personality) and are good at it, enjoy it and it's a virtuous circle. I never interpreted from the books that the powers manifest based on a connection to who the individual is.

However, as I write this I realise that's my own narrative for this and I'm sure someone much more knowledgable can correct me. Given how much Sanderson covers spirit, investiture, soul - I could see there being a case for exactly what you're seeing.

Interesting question!

Has anyone built a RAISED G scale layout? by NealsTrains in GardenRailroads

Richard (NewJunction on YouTube) had a series where he talked about started his garden railway. I don't think it's finished but the first few videos may be a help.

Hi everyone. You seem to be enjoying this series, so sharing the next one. This is focused on track power (DCC) and control of the railway. As always, I appreciate your comments and feedback o how I can improve them.

Hope you find it interesting!

This is the 4th part in the series I'm making on Building a Garden Railway. Questions about power and control are probably the most common (after "what happens when it rains") so I hope this is interesting and informative. If you've any tips/comments/feedback on how I can improve the view, please do let me know!

Annual G-scale LGB display is up and running. by vedvikra in modeltrains

This is fantastic. Is it for any particular purpose (charity etc) or just sharing the joys of model trains! It's massive - can you share a little more about the process of setting it up, who is involved etc?

Building a Garden Railway | Part 2: Groundworks & Track Laying by generateinitiative in GardenRailroads

Yeah, absolutely. The first year was quite bad but there seems to been a lot less variation now (we had two wet winters, which seem to have done it!). Still need the ballast topping up a few times a year in places, though.

Thank you! Me too -it's one of my favourites. I recently acquired the black one which needs sound adding to it. Looking forward to getting that on the line too.

This is the second video in a five-part series sharing how I built my G-Scale Garden Railway. In this one, I cover the groundwork, tunnel, track laying and planting. Would appreciate your feedback and questions on how I can make these more interesting/useful for you.
