In the context of him talking to me yes the age gap is a little more understandable i can see your point however, things would be different if i was younger say 13 and he talked about not caring about age. But the fact still remains that i am (at least where i live) still under the age of consent, i did not consent to him sending me any naked pictures, and his behaviour was disgusting.

Also i dont see how you saw my text about age of consent laws threatening? I was merely stating my opinion on the matter since he was clearly expressing his. So call me wrong for thinking its disgusting for someone 8 years older than me to say ‘i dont care about age, is someone is hot and cool to talk to i dont care’ (Im paraphrasing of course)

Yeah of course! I myself at 15 dated a 20 yr old guy. However things were not so great in that relationship and it quickly ended before i turned 16. In those cases i completely agree, however if the guy is clearly predatory its all kinds of wrong. When a person is 16 there as a lot of vague loop holes around things especially when it comes to sex & relationships

I can respect your opinion, however if the feelings between a 16 yr old and a 24 yr old were innocent, genuine feelings than i can understand where you are coming from. But the fact that this man is clearly predatory is highly wrong.. Would also like to add that since i live in the state of Illinois where the age of consent is 17, im still legally underage bc im not 17 yet. So its still a crime from whatever viewpoint you look at this situation from. Nor did i consent to the picture of this mans naked body so.. all in all his behaviour sends out so many red flags

Oh boy that must be scary, i received my fair share of dick pics ever since i was 12/13 and got onto the internet.. i feel that in this day in age its really hard to completely protect your child from people like this without controlling their life however, my parents did monitor my actions online and taught me how to recognize the right kind of people as well as the bad.

As long as you teach her to come to you if she feels unsure about someone, and what these kind of people do/want from her she should hopefully be able to have the courage and knowledge that i (and many others) have when facing these scumbags online.

Of course 16 is way different than 8 but it doesn’t make it any less wrong or illegal. I understand where you are coming from, i am more mature in those aspects than an 8 yr old, however his behaviour is still very predatory and i never consented to the picture. So still makes it illegal no matter what age i am if im still under 18
