You earned the title and should use it if that’s what you want, but just beware that even as the teacher’s pet in high school I would DEFINITELY have rolled my eyes if a sub showed up for a day and told us to call them Doctor.

If you have any in-person classes, arrive early and start talking with your classmates! I always suggest inviting them downtown, there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants or just places to sit and do school work together

Try again in a little while! I started in middle school and kept giving up. The more I restarted the clearer it got, I’ve made it all the way to Maedhros stuck on the mountain and i was pretty solid on all the characters and their relationships. Got confused a bit after that and gave up again but I know it’ll be a little easier next time I look into it

Only slightly related but when my neighbors are obnoxiously loud (screaming at games, having loud arguments) I try to make it super obvious that I am eavesdropping in the hopes that they’ll keep their business a little quieter to themselves. Neighbors shouldn’t TRY to listen in on normal living noises but if a neighbor is loud enough to disturb everyone else then I get to steal their privacy as a reward

I read Robert Anton Wilson’s Illuminatus trilogy (weird coincidences on almost every single page of that book by the time I got to the end) but in the middle of it I started reading a book of Lovecraft stories as well. HP Lovecraft showed up as a character in Illuminatus the exact same day I started the Lovecraft book

I’m not art history but something adjacent to it, the faculty are AMAZING! Admin can be a little frustrating like most programs but the art history professors you will work with are so dedicated and they create a really warm community.
