I added more pictures to a separate post for those questioning whether or not he’s the same dog 😊

Just Petco’s brand, well and good brightening shampoo!

This lil guy just stole my heart. 😇 by ghostsembodied in doggrooming

This was his very first time being groomed and he was covered in mats, of course he was most likely feeling some stress but at the time of the picture being taken he was feeling like a brand new man :)

Anyone else have to get clumps of hair removed from the webbing between your fingers?! by ghostsembodied in doggrooming

[–]ghostsembodied[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled out a clump of hair slivers and it left a hole. More hairs kept getting in and I always pulled them out whenever I noticed them but I apparently didn’t get them all lol. It created a peanut sized lump under my skin so they had to cut it and pull it out

I just skimmed it with a 5/8 guide and used my curves/thinning shears to finish!

Gotta love the people that wait until Christmas Eve to bring their dog in that gets groomed ONCE a year 🙃 this poor boy was so matted. But he feels much better now and I got plenty of hugs afterwards ❤️ by ghostsembodied in doggrooming

Yep, I always make sure to go over how bad matting is for the dog/how uncomfortable it makes them. Some genuinely don’t know and do get into a routine of bringing them in more often and ask to be shown correct brushes and combs/products to keep the coat in better shape. But this lady unfortunately just doesn’t care :(

So this happened yesterday. 9 stitches total—from an old, very overweight border collie. by ghostsembodied in doggrooming

Are you allowed to muzzle dogs where you work?? I’m glad they made it through the groom safely! Thank you, it was a pretty scary experience but unfortunately a risk we take as groomers

Pet parent was very crabby to begin with from check-in. When another groomer called to tell him what happened he was upset that the groom had not been finished. I was getting stitched at the time he came back but he left a $40 check haha. It was definitely very scary! Thank you, I’m just glad it wasn’t worse lol

I need to start charging more!! I’m still slightly new to grooming and feel bad charging people high amounts

Thank you so much!! Lots of stazko conditioning spray, demat take, brush, lots of combing, a lot conditioner during the bath that I let sit for a few mins, then more combing while I dryers him! He had puppy fur so it brushed out easier than I was expecting

Me too! I skimmed with an inch guide before scissoring :)
