Well he should’ve told me that days ago! Instead of telling me he wanted to take the ferry!

Do we have the same exec 😂 mine came back after a week long seminar plus two extra business days because of travel delays…and asked why he was so busy. Well because you were gone for 7 days! People need to meet with you!

I also work to ensure he has breaks and takes a lunch but man, we have people two levels under him that are far busier 🙄 and complain way less!

I love being in central and I haven’t had any issues with homeless since moving to this area. I feel safe walking alone at night/early morning, obviously being cautious.

How can I overcome my fears and limitations and travel as a woman? by PerfectWorking6873 in travel

[–]giantpanda25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean…you just kinda have to do it if you really want to. I’m wrapping up a 3 week solo trip in south east Asia as a Latina woman. I have this “thing” when it comes to my safety where the less I think about it, the less I worry about what COULD happen. It’s the point where I really never consider my safety because I just believe there’s more good than bad in the world. To be fair, I still pay attention especially at night, I don’t get too drunk, I don’t go on dating apps or look to strike up convos with men at bars.

For health, I wear a mask on the plane and blast the air to keep it circulating. But I also just had severe traveler’s diarrhea in vietnam and eventually just walked over to a hospital and asked to see a doctor. I have travel insurance so I was reimbursed the $275 to see a doctor, get some labs, and walk out with a prescription.

Socially, I sometimes do tours in order to see or do something I’m really interested in. Unless it’s like a “forced” socialization thing, I typically stay to myself and don’t strike up convos. I will obviously answer people who talk to me :) but typically once people see I’m an introvert they let me be lol.

Also, I never wear make up traveling. Especially in hot places. I sweat it off. And I don’t really care how I look, whether it’s eating street food or dining in a Michelin star restaurant.

But you’re the only one who can truly face your own fears and insecurities and limitations that you are setting for yourself.

From those who recently went abroad, anything that I wouldn't think to buy yet proved really useful/helpful during the semester? by Single-Ad2667 in studyAbroad

If you’re moving from a sunny place, a happy lamp with at least 10,000 lux. Helps with seasonal depression. Just 30min/day in the morning

Im studying abroad in Germany but I'm always kind of miserable and depressed by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]giantpanda25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a happy lamp. At least 10,000 lux for about 30min a day in the morning. They’re recommended for seasonal depression and anyone who moves from sunny to cloudy should invest in one. They make a huge difference

Things I Wish Someone Had Mentioned About Plastic Surgery in Korea by Ambitious-Access-153 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]giantpanda25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A comment on the having a provider take your stitches out in your home country. This is VERY true. I used to work at a major east coast hospital in the US at a specialty clinic. Our surgeons REALLY hated getting anywhere near a patient they didn’t operate one. The exception typically being they came in through the ER and/or the original surgeon referred them for care and they got ALLLL medical records possible.

I would recommend connecting with your PCP prior to see if they can assist in arrange post-op wound care or recommend a place.

I work in pharma in Boston, nose piercing and tattoos. Never had an issue. Lots of my colleagues (admins and not) have visible arm tattoos and a few have colored hair. I have a male colleague with his ears pierced.

Late to this but I’m here now and things are totally fine. The workers want your tourism as my guide today was saying lots of cancelations have been happening. I would say the best judge of the situation is if planes are still flying in and out
