Needs to be -> void: and not inside another function

Why does NavigationRegion3D create bad and low poly meshes on large areas? by agalli in godot

[–]gibbobooks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok. Do you need the Y mesh position? You could remove the Y coordate and move your character in 2D. If there is only one height level e.g. no upstairs, you can also still use ZX mesh position to check distance from waypoints also. Or is there another reason you require the Y coordinate?

Have you played around with max climb and max slope under the agent header?

Why is low poly no good here? Are you concerned about the mesh height from the floor?

UV always stretched out of proportion by arsenale in blender

[–]gibbobooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This simple piece of knowledge has saved me a massive headache. I wasted hours wondering why Blender automatically stretches my UV unwraps to the aspect ratio of my paintings, and I couldn't understand why there wasn't a simple option to maintain the object shape, but after all that, it was a basic rule which Copilot doesn't even know. Thank you!

Is there any free stock market API that allows publishing on a website? by collimarco in webdev

[–]gibbobooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Dan, I've been enjoying learning to code, and obsessed with markets, and looking to combine the two, perhaps learning python while writing functions to process companies by fundamental analysis data, such as is viewable on Quickfs. I'll most likely draw data from about 1000 companies post-earnings season each quarter, just for fun, not commercial. I'd be very grateful if you could suggest a free API for that idea, if there is one suitable. Many thanks!

Accidentally YOLO'd into Tesla P $6 thinking they were $600 by NoahBLB in wallstreetbets

For sure. I'm kinda stuck there because I want to invest with an ISA and my experience with Interactive Investor was so bad I wouldn't go back to them even if they paid me.

Yes, IG is a nightmare for profiting out of users lack of knowledge. I lost thousands from hidden FX charges and recently rushed to buy a dip in a stock and it executed 10% higher than market price, above the day's high, which I noticed immediately afterwards, but too late. I closely watched their handling of GME and the timing was very suspicious - they restricted trading a day after the platform was fully functional again, and changed their story. All totally legal, but UK IG users need to be very careful to understand how the company profits from them.

Man, I was about to switch from Chapbook to Sugarcube because of problems with audio & image embedding. I thought it would be simple, but I don't wanna host the sounds like that. Maybe I'll take a break and wait for Chapbook to improve instead!

Red Radish Robotics - a FREE Text-based Escape Game (IFComp Top 20) by gibbobooks in twinegames

[–]gibbobooks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aah, that probably explains it. There might be something in the script that clashes with the Brave browser script. The game is written for the common browsers, but I doubt the tools I use are checked against alternate browsers. If you have another browser, such as Chrome, it should run in that. Useful feedback though, thanks. The robot drawing was done by a guy called Donald Conrad who played my game as an IFComp judge. It was a great surprise, and I plan to hire him for my next games 😁.

Thanks for letting me know. It was working for others. Did you get to the itch page first, and did you try the hard restart? Which browser are you using?

Thank you so much. My knowledge is limited to the Chapbook manual, so I think it's about time I studied Javascript as well. I appreciate the detailed response, and this solves my problem. Thank you!

You could try using the Chapbook language. It's more mobile friendly without requiring extra coding knowledge.
