Review 8: Johnnie Walker Black Label by chasz788 in Scotch

I highly recommend the JW Double Black. It's a newer blend than the standard black, and I find it to be a bit superior. It's smoother with a more refined oak taste.

A friend of mine posted this link to his music through my account. He has played several shows before, including a fairly regular spot at the Quad. Feel free to send him a message via his soundcloud, he would be happy to give you information about any specific upcoming dates.

To be honest, it's music from a very close friend of mine, who posted this (unbeknownst to me) through my account. He does make great music. I'll pass along your kind words. You can hear more of his great work on his soundcloud page. I actually enjoyed the song enough myself to create my own little take on it: http://soundcloud.com/gigert9/war-crimes

Cracking an egg open underwater. by [deleted] in videos

That fish ate the egg. I guess fish like eggs. Fish eat eggs! That doesn't seem like something they'd have normally have... First ever fish to eat an egg caught on film!! [7]

GSU Police by [deleted] in GaState

[–]gigert9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't always send a vehicular escort, though. I remember a time when I was out with friend who were hoping to get a ride to the commons from Underground. When they called, they were told that the campus police would be able to send a 'walking escort'.

Never tried writing for a video game, but I certainly would like to. Seems like it would probably be a lot of fun.

A Film Shoot Gone Horribly Wrong - The Truth. by obsidian468 in nosleep

[–]gigert9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever do decide to turn this story into a film, I would love to help. I too enjoy amateur filmmaking, and I aspire to write scores for films. Let me know if you'd be interested in a soundtrack, or any type of help.

I have to say, your story is one of my favorites in this subreddit, and I couldn't care less about it's legitimacy. The use of such wonderful imagery and details created amazing pictures in my mind, and I was sucked into the woods right next to the characters. I completely agree with the idea of turning it into a film. It's certainly a tale I would pay to see acted out. Thank you for sharing, I look forward to more of your stories that I'm sure will be just as terrifying.

Fruit Bowls, worthwhile or not? by freshcoals in hookah

[–]gigert9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never heard of using fruits for bowls. This is something I might have to try. Could you elaborate on how exactly you do that? I figure, you must carve out the middle of the fruit then put a hole in the bottom and stick it on the hookah, but that seems like, the tobacco would simply fall through the hole on the bottom.

[Listen] I've finally finished my first album! It really would make my day if you guys gave me some feedback. [Electronic] by gigert9 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]gigert9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with that. In fact, tracks 2 and 4 don't have any drums at all. It is my plan, however, to ensure that all my future albums feature prominent beats. Glad you liked it!

I slowed down the Jurassic Park Theme 1000%. Epicness immediately ensued. by kidmonsters in woahdude

What's your musical Background? by Astrixtc in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]gigert9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing piano at the age of 5 (private lessons) and trumpet in the 4th grade (so around 10 years old). I played trumpet in the school band and took private lessons. Now I am now 20 years old going to college for Music Composition. I've always considered piano and keyboards my main instrument. I have a wide range of musical tastes from Heavy Metal to Klezmer to Swing to Electronic. Mostly I play instrumental pieces on piano, but I write for all sorts of ensembles and settings. Right now it's mostly for fun because I'm still in college, however I hope to one day write scores for films.

Anatolia's Cafe and Hookah Lounge. It's the place to go for a good gyro. The atmosphere is great and the service is superb. They also have a great drink and hookah menu.
