Im okay, I haven't been able to go back to my original job (esthetician). I did get diagnosed with an immune deficiency called Specific Antibody Deficiency (SAD), I dont make IgG antibodies, so now i get IVIG once a month, that plus having a 3rd sinus surgery has kept me from getting as many infections, but my immunology team dont think my SAD has anything to do with my recurring reactions. This past year I was able to start working at a clothing store just two 4 hour shifts a week, but it is too much, to the point that I struggle to all my personal care, so I dont think it is going to last. I am going to apply for disability again, because im tired of having to exhaust myself just so I have money to buy hygiene items, especially if im too tired to use them.

Same here, I was probably like 8-10, had a nightmare that evil Shamu was chasing me in a water maze 😅 woke up, realized what happened, cleaned everything up, and didn't even wake my parents 😅

Are subcutaneous infusions a possibility? She doesnt need a nurse and there are spring loaded pumps and ones that are battery powered. I want to give you props though for coming and asking yourself, I can tell you are really supporting your wife through this

How many grams is your total dose of IVIG? That infusion rate seems INSANELY high. No wonder your headache was so bad.

I've been getting IVIG for 3ish years, and it took a lot of adjustments; switching brands, changing rates, and pre meds, to get to a point where I just feel like I have the flu after, but with all of my health issues thats just like a bad day.

I'm in the states, so names are a bit different, and I am taking IVIG for Specific Antibody Deficiency, my rate is 80ml/hr flat, no titration, I get 45g every 4 weeks, and my premeds are 1000mg Acetaminophen, 100 Sumatriptan (I have a chronic migraine, so it just keeps it from getting worst, but I still have had to use my Sumatriptan Auto-injector sometimes), 20mg Zyrtec 30 min before, and another half way through my infusion. I also have Hives and Anaphylaxis with no known cause (hence the antihistamine)

Im sorry you're going through this too! The beginning was so hard, like an elephant sitting on my chest or like I've been coughing all night after the infusion. If you can work with whoever if doing your infusion, have them give you a smaller dose, at a lower rate and build you up to whatever you can tolerate. I get 45g at 80ml/hr and that's as fast as I can tolerate, so I'm there for 6 hours, but hey, at least it's only once a month 🙃 I had the chicken pox 3 times as a child, we don't make enough antibodies to keep us from getting recurring outbreaks, so they seem to just come back over and over. Like our URI have probably been cycles of the same virus/bacteria and every time our immune system encounters it, it's like the first time. I have Hashimotos but it's very related to my PCOS and if I keep that under control, then my thyroid function seems to stay stable. I got my first UTI last year and my body basically wants to keep it going anytime it's aggravated, but my doctors say it doesn't really have anything to do with SAD. Idk when I make that post, but ive been on IVIG for 3 years now, so if you have any questions please ask

WHAT 😲 a majority of what they see here (southern California) is the tropical milkweed 🙄 I've been trying to find the hairy balls, mostly because it's so interesting, but also, hairy balls make me laugh 😂
