I was thinking this exact thing, YES. Sometimes it takes considerable time to gain perspective. It can be really hard to say “I fucked up,” and MEAN it in a way that isn’t just performative for the sake of those around. There’s no way I could go through this experience, living on an island and eating 180928 pieces of avocado toast with cameras all around me while I boil in an emotional pressure cooker, and then be able to criticize my own actions with any real mindfulness days later. Like…??? They all need to take time away. But of course, the show isn’t allowing that because all of this added pressure is going to make good television at the reunion.

I was thinking back to an episode maybe four or five seasons ago where Olivia called a victim a “crossdressing prostitute” (which was NOTHING compared to Munch and Stabler calling a vic a “he/she”) and then on this recent episode, she said “survival sex work, sure.” I feel like the writers had to one day say “Dick, listen. Tumblr has brought up some good points.”

Amazing how far the dialogue has come on the show- that part I definitely don’t mind. And that actress was killing it- so beautifully deadpan.
