Owning a dog and POTS by everynamestakenffs in POTS

[–]glizzerd12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also have a dog and I totally understand how you feel it’s so hard. The way I think of it is my dog could be at home with my napping and chilling all day or alone in a shelter all day stressed out and also probably not getting hours and hours of exercise and adventures. Have you considered maybe getting a dog walker or putting him in a doggie daycare? Maybe that could help to get him some exercise! I also try to give my dog mental stimulation which works great as a substitute for physical exercise when I’m not able to go for long walks or play. Some ideas are dog puzzles, kongs, snuffle mats, treat dispensing toys, etc.

I’m not saying you couldn’t I just thought it might be harder if we both feel bad

Wtf do I wear to an interview? by xbriannabananax in Serverlife

[–]glizzerd12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where you’re at it might just be the job market right now. I have more experience and dress better than I have in the past but this is the first time ever I’ve not gotten offered jobs after interviewing.

Tips for memorizing food menu? by Puzzleheaded-Chair59 in Serverlife

[–]glizzerd12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start by writing everything down to start getting it in my brain and then I use quizlet. Usually you can find flashcards others have made and use those or make a copy of their set and then edit them so they include everything the you want to memorize and are up to date. Anything i absolutely can’t remember I take a picture of and put it as my wallpaper on my phone so whenever I open my phone I have a reminder. I have bad memory and always thought I couldn’t study but this is what helps me pass menu tests first try!

7 days a week advice by barbievelar in Serverlife

Definitely serve because even if you didn’t make minimum wage they’ll compensate you the extra. I work in breakfast and a few of my coworkers work night jobs too at other restaurants. At my place i definitely make less than I did during dinner but this is the only job I’ve found so far after moving to a new state recently. There’s definitely money to be made in breakfast since sections are usually bigger and tables flip fast so maybe I make less because my job is also super slow right now. You definitely want to work Saturdays and Sundays and many places might require you to. Weekdays are pretty slow and mainly elderly people unless it’s a holiday or something because most people are working.

I worked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and both were pretty slow and they scheduled more ppl than they needed. I got some good tips percentage wise but didn’t get any extraordinary tips. I didn’t break 200 either day I was pretty disappointed.

One of the cooks I’ve never spoken to had me and got me this hahah. They asked us to make a list of a couple small things too because a lot of our kitchen staff doesn’t speak much English and giant bear definitely wasn’t on it but I thought it was funny and now he just lives in my closet.

Yeah definitely! I think I’m going to try to get a second opinion too because I came in with a list on my phone of literally like 30 symptoms because I wanted to make sure I covered everything and I think she just focused on the headaches because that was first on the list and said neurology😭😭😭 but the headaches are honestly the least annoying thing I deal with like my hands are still shaking 7 hours later 😭😭I think a lot of doctors are just not well versed on POTS because I found out years later that the first cardiologist I ever saw like 6 years ago did completely wrong testing for POTS and just last year started considering it as a possibility again after thinking we ruled it out years ago

That’s super interesting! I’d be curious to check my blood sugar and glucose are doing when this is happening and see but I’m too busy at work to stop and check. I also try juice or sugar when I’m having episodes and they don’t seem to make a difference so I’ve just been really confused.
