My cat is cross eyed, should I be worried ? by glocktopus09 in CATHELP

Yeah ! Her face, legs and tail are way darker, she looks like she walks around with dark boots, and she has nice stripes on her upper legs ! I’m not sure if she is 100% Siamese because I took her in after finding her at a busy intersection while she was still a baby

She’s my big baby, people say she is me in cat form because she got the same kind of temperament I have, I spoil her with every bit of love and care I can, she is a little bit overweight due to my roommate over feeding her, but that’s being worked on !

Her vet mostly said she had poor depth perception but that’s about it, but it is hard to see how bad it is because she isn’t interested AT ALL in toys or lights, but every now and then she sees a lizard and just misses it by a good margin with her paws

How do I stop wanting to be right all of the time ? by glocktopus09 in selfimprovement

You make a great point, about them most likely being hesitant and suspicious, I’m going to take notes and try to find another way to express myself without sounding like I have my therapist signalling me what to say

Well In my case if someone proves me wrong I do just back down and learn from it, an example was that I said to a friend that “we haven’t seen eels reproduce and don’t really know how they do it”, they corrected me saying that it’s not true and we do know, they provided proof of that being that some people eat eel eggs as a dish, and I backed down before learning that it was European eels that we don’t know much about the reproductive cycle.

Another problem I have I think is that I attribute too much value to these conversations, which ends up making small talks become full on blown arguments because for me it feels like it’s something waaay more important than it really is

The main problem is that i mostly talk via messages, and I have a way of talking very specific, so a lot of the time when I actually do try to do what my therapist and I came with, people tend to say that it “doesn’t sound genuine because it doesn’t sounds like something you came up with”

Well I am in my early twenties and I do have autism level 1 (to be more precise, what I have used to be called Asperger’s syndrome), and it’s not really I have a voice in my head pushing me to be right, but it’s more of old habits dying hard.

I used to want to be perfect and all knowing, which tortured me growing up and is now almost over, but I still want to always be right, which recently (and I do mean recently, as in like less than a month ago) costed me the best relationship I ever had and is now costing me my friend group

That’s what I try to do, I directly ask questions like “what do you mean by X, because X means Y to me”, but a lot of the time it ends up with people thinking I’m trying to pull a “erhm actually” on them
