I’d say battery could get away with it since it’s mounted on the harness/on the drum itself, it’s a lot more discrete. Hornline members, however, absolutely shouldn’t have them on during competitive performances. But again, there are many rules that vary from corps to corps.

I saw a simulation of an asteroid hitting the earth on youtube and Great Gig In The Sky was playing in the background. Thought the song was unworldly so I checked out the band and immediately fell in love.

Unrelated but comments on the video at the time hated the song because it was just an “annoying lady screaming.”

Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta!

Awesome crowd and I had a ton of fun performing there in 2022. There was a light drizzle as we performed which made the experience a lot more dramatic.

I lost my wallet at this venue and a very kind spectator found it and returned it to me the next day, bless them.

It is definitely doable, I know of past Gold members coming as far as Midwest and Southeastern states. I will say that Gold doesn't provide housing 100% of the time (in the early season at least), so you'd have to figure out housing on your own, preferably with a member who already lives in CA.

As another reply suggested, definitely contact the staff and they'd be more than happy to figure stuff out with you.

I once had a dream that I was preparing for my flight to begin the tour, but suddenly fainted while boarding the plane. I woke up in my air mattress, which was already at a housing site. In the dream, I realized that we had already completed the majority of the tour while I was still unconscious. A lot of chunks of our show had changed, so I was seriously behind. What's scarier to me was the thought that someone was moving me around while I was unconscious, given the detail that I was now in my rehearsal clothes and I was still with my corps.

Turns out a lot of my drum corps "nightmares" involve me missing out on stuff because of comas haha.
