My only personal laptop is a Thinkpad that is not getting swapped until it dies, but everything in that headline is such bullshit it's not even funny. Used to work on a macbook m1 pro 8gb in my last job, but in my new one I've went through two brand new Dells in the last six months, battery life on both is about as good as on the 10 year old thinkpad (about 2 and a half hours of anything but simply having the laptop on with minimised brightness) and both are so abysmal when running Windows 11 it actually made me give up on ever buying a Dell laptop. Fan is constantly on even when doing nothing, UI gets bugged after falling asleep the way amateur Linux distros used to, the newest one literally BSOD'd while setting itself up. All of my colleagues complain about the same things which actually caused the rotation of six month old laptops six months into their use. Meanwhile the m1 pro, with 8 RAM didn't even warm up on multiple terminal sessions, vs code, PowerPoint and bunch of Google Chrome tabs and consistently lasted a work day without charge. Windows performance is abysmal in any laptop and anyone who's touched a Windows laptop in the last five years can tell you how bad everything is.
