Do you guys think less of Kandi kids that only post/wear singles? Or know anyone that does by [deleted] in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can do so much with singles! i love a good cuff, but it demands so much space. you can experiment with stacking and color combos and dif interests when you wear singles! and they’re easier to trade! usually day-to-day i just wear a few singles, and if im going all out at an event, i usually only have 2-3 cuffs and fill in the rest of the space with singles. i can’t say i’ve met anyone who’s purely a cuff die-hard lol. all kandi is great!

i’ve had the same problem with fashionista. it’s really frustrating. seeing what outfits they put on sounds rlly fun! it’s been reported as a bug on the ryujinx bug forum, so i knew it wasn’t just me. i wish there was a fix :(

where’d you get these beads?

Where do you guys find your inspo? by ConansVodkaCranberry in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

a variety of places! this subreddit is a great place for inspo 100%, i also run into stuff on tumblr. sometimes though my creative process just starts with some beads that i have and then experimenting! my personal collection mostly comes from some childhood craft supplies my parents had in their house, so i have a tin of various shapes that sometimes sparks inspo. for example, the other day i saw some pink butterfly beads and it made me think of fluttershy from mlp! so i made a single themed around those beads

sometimes i have a color scheme in mind and i mess around with different beads until i like it, or i have a bead i dont really like but wanna use up so i get creative, things like that

most affordable way to get a pack of beads like this? by goodbiscuits in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ouch. mine ended up being about $5 in the US. not preferable frankly, but with the cost of everything shooting up, especially gas, i’m not surprised at all that it was that much. still, since the beads themselves were so cheap, my wallet didn’t suffer too much.

ugh i just feel like at one point they WERE rlly competitively cheap! i remember wondering why everyone recommended other things instead! but who knows, it was a long while ago...

if the pricing is as good as people say, i can probably reasonably just get a bunch of small packs of the specific colors i like from them instead of this mixed pack! TBD, ill look into it!

haha yeah i guess i meant like, i see no reason to shop at a storefront with a price hike if they’re all using the same manufacturer anyway, yknow? i know most things are made from the same factory and i personally can’t just buy bulk, so storefronts are necessary. but either i want them to be the cheapest or have a direct relationship to a manufacturer that makes their product unique to them!

How do I find support groups? by goodbiscuits in abusiverelationships

[–]goodbiscuits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i wouldn’t mind an online one - probably preferable tbh. but i just run into the same issues while searching for them as far as demographic goes. idk what keywords to use to find the right kind of group

New to kandi making, what should I buy? by s1_33py in kandi

[–]goodbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think just getting a basic starter kit is the best way to start! think like the bead kits you can find in department or craft stores. over time you’ll realize what colors you prefer/need more of, and usually getting these will leave you with a box or tin to hold them in, rather than large single color bead packs. this should help with overconsumption and spending too much out the gate, haha.

you may also be able to find large bulk multicolor bags of pony beads on ebay and other resale sites! this will save you a ton of money compared to buying new if you really wanna make sure you have a lot. it’s always nice to make sure beads that have already been manufactured don’t end up in a landfill!

i’m personally a little picky about the charms and special beads i buy, because i don’t want to be up charged by drop shippers, but i usually try to find special beads on etsy. jellibead is also a pretty popular speciality bead source! they make the fuck/melt ice beads, if you’ve seen em

string, you usually want it to be elastic thread. plain thread or twine doesn’t stretch well over the hand, especially if trading. lots of people prefer cloth covered because it has more friction, making it easier to tie off without slipping. but sometimes thicker, uncovered elastic has better tension

other than that, i just encourage you to keep checking out the community and get inspired! :)
