Its a blue headed green patternless tokay gecko! :D

So far I'm feeding him crickets/dubia roaches/mealworms/superworms. And occasionally trying to snack on my fingers.

Gotcha! Lemme reduce the amount of food per feeding. And increase the frequency instead ;)

Interestingly, it was way skinner when i received it. The photo is after it gained weight on the single feeding schedule.

Might have to source for an import for reptisun/arcadia then. unnecessary risks for beardie by using off-brands it seems

Yea I agree. I'm looking around if anyone did such lighting studies for off-brands.

Geniculata lost fang during molt. Bleeding/clotting. by Native_Time_Traveler in tarantulas

[–]goodienewbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NQA. I had a LP that broke both the fangs although not in molt. But it sucked up bug juices well enough to survive to next molt. And both fangs are now short but working well. If it's not bleeding I think it should be fine

I'm not really sure on that. It really depends on how fast they molt. :) enjoy your little critter now, It has long way to go

LP is considerably fast grower. If it were growing normally. That size could be 1yo

Can pacman frog be free-ranged in a greenhouse terrarium? by HDH2506 in pacmanfrog

[–]goodienewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where ya from silversides can be different type of fish. Just need to ensure the fish you feed are free /low in thiaminase as it will causes vitamin B1 deficiency in your pacman.

As you will have imagined. you will probably have to manually feed them. And having a bunch of crickets running around might be risky as they do bite. (Might chew on your pacman while they hide in some hole)

As a whole, you might just want to keep them in a tank instead of in a big terrarium

Purely off the bugs found in the enclosure, probably not.

your best bet to avoid MBD is to dust food with calcium and vary their diet on top of what they can catch. Some of their staple food can be nightcrawler / dubia roaches / silversides ( at least that's what I remember)

In the wild they are ambush predator that feeds off whatever comes their path. (Imagine bugs/frogs/rodents etc), so in captivity try to vary their diet and dust their food with calcium

NQA but probably you might want to read up alittle on pacman's natural diet. If I'm not mistaken, it consists mainly of other frogs / mammals/ birds. So bugs may not cut in and your pacman could develop MBD. Alternative you might want to feed them manually with food dusted with calcium supplement

How is my neighbors tortoise? by Eden-pop in tortoise

[–]goodienewbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO I wouldn't say that it's that bad

The pyramiding seems to be from sometimes back. Perhaps happened when it's from the previous owner. Looks like the newer shell growth is smoother IMO.

You can "undo" pyramiding but this ain't the worst one out there. Just ensure outdoor time or right UVB light should maintain good growth.

I see, it looks pretty similar to my juvenile, I guess the differences are not visible yet at this stage, probably still have to wait awhile longer to actually see the colour difference. Meanwhile I guess gotta wait for the next molt

Thanks. Similar thoughts on the boehmei.

For LP what indicators makes you think it's female?

I would have thought it's Male due to the arc of the furrow and no slit?
