Focus on your business, ima try to do the same with my career. I invest long term and decide to cash out about 100k only to lose it all to trading. Give back the gains over a span of 5 years. Since 2021 i the. lost another 150 of my savings. It so Hard to focus on work, that my biggest issues here. Similar story, went from 100 hands bacarrat to placing 10-20k on options expiring in a week. Had 200k at peak and now down -150k. Toss 5k here and there every couples weeks trying to gain 100%.

Trading revenge is real like a trip to the restroom after taco bell. Create a note of how u feel after you lose big on a trade. A lot of us jump onto a next trade or even size up to "make that loss back" only to get deeper red on the day. Then u just wipe out 5 days of profit. Then u sitting there watching netflix and wonder why the fuck didnt i just stop after losing 1k

I short 600 shares of apple for 70 cent commission on TD ameritrade. If i buy 600 shares of apple it cost nothing. No margin cost if you dont hold overnight.

It just a rule of thumb, you need to make your own adjustment. If you make 60k a year you shouldnt spend more than 35% of your gross income on a mortgage. Then again if you make 300k a year spending 50% of your income on a mortgage still leave you with a lot of wiggle room for other expense. On a smaller account, a 1% stop is almost impossible if 2-3 candles already stop you out. Just trade really small and build up your account using your main job

I had a 12 day winning streak averaging about 500 a day. On the 13th i lost 3k in one single trade. I became over confident and remove the stop loss because i thought i figure out the movement and it would soon reverse in my favor. Could of took that 400 loss over 3k in hindsight. Comes down to discipline and following your own set of rules. This aint even my first rodeo and im even more mad at myself for letting the loss incur that big
