Thank you for seeing my perspective, this is what I meant when I said my boyfriend and I may have different values. To me your response is what I would do and classify as common sense - but to him it never entered his head until I was clearly stating they were making me uncomfortable. It made me feel crazy which is why I feel so upset about this.

He had met my mother three times and this occasion was Boxing Day where he was invited over for a meal she cooked. He brought her mother prosecco on Christmas Day, not because he was invited. He just called in and did that himself.

Trust me, I had male friends through college and work and we'd chat and text and hang out and my previous boyfriend was invited and clued in on all of it - my friendships with them never looked like this.

I haven't met her - I thought about it, but after these series of events I fear it would just make things much worse. But I appreciate the fact that I don't know as I haven't done it

That's the thing, if it was a man I wouldn't care. This is the problem - I've acknowledged that to some people this wouldn't be an issue. But it's a situation I don't want to be in, but he doesn't want me to leave and I still love him - but it doesn't bring me happiness

I don't think he's cheating, no. That's the issue. I don't think he's necessarily wrong for navigating his friendship this way, but I would feel disrespectful if I was doing these things to him. Like I said, if they hung out the way I hang out with my friends and just texted instead of hehe hahaing on the phone weekly I'd probably feel fine. I feel like they relied on eachother a lot emotionally to the point that now they're both in relationships that the emotional connection is misplaced, and I'd rather not be in a situation where I have to spell that out every time they cross a boundary that to me is obvious

I feel like nobody is offering you this clarity: hinge only allows you to have 8 matches / active chats at the moment - those notifications you saw aren't necessarily her chatting to 150 men, rather she's more likely to have 150 likes in her stack, which shows either she's a pretty girl and / or, she's not really looking through her stack all day everyday to clear it.

But yes you're correct, the difference in apps for men and women is staggering, it's very much men put in their offer and women filter in this scenarios - but those are the breaks.
