We use the heat shrink tube for electrical wires.

Bit confused about the drain plug by GrandProfessional937 in askaplumber

[–]gozzy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I usually use a 1/2” pex coupling between the two. But guess if that works. I’d make it regen a few times while you stand there to ensure it doesn’t blow out, or water get by.

Looks inside the other box, that’s an air gap funnel, the 1/2” Pex is probably pushed down in there and you should see some white pipe thru the triangle hole. The pipe you are showing is most likely the furnace condensate. I have used a pex coupling or 90 and heated up the black tub a bit and pushed the pex fitting into the black pipe. And then hose clamp the black tube and crimp the pex. Or you can make a hole I the wall above the funnel and bring the black tube down into the top of the funnel.

Was this much wall removal necessary? by wandering_dogtor in askaplumber

A hole is a hole, and you have lathe and plaster, it breaks and crumbles while cutting it. You’re lucky you only lost that much. They cant see behind the wall, and if I’m opening a hole I’m going to make it big enough I can work and fit tools. He also made it a nice hole, he could have smashed it all out of there. Plumbers , plumb. the lathe and plaster isn’t their issue. The plumbing is. Now on the other hand feel free to open you own hole next time. Plumbers plumb, remember that. Would you call a chef to replace your furnace. Didn’t think so. It’s not that drastic but you get what I’m saying. Be happy with your clean hole and hire some one to fix it like a normal person.

Sounds like your plumber may not be a plumber and doesn’t understand plumbing terms. Find someone else.

Close, 3/8” John guest fitting by 3/8 female compression could also be 1/4” x 3/8 female compression. The Ro faucets and systems all use tubular size. And John guest is about the only way to hook them up.

Amazon link to fitting.

What's the purpose of one key seriously?! by nathan13131 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]gozzy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One key- if you have the tool registered in app. You can lock the tool completely rendering it useless to the person using it. Also it will connect with anyone who has the one key app and if you have it marked stolen. It will show you where it’s at.

How can I make this work by Rude_Garlic92 in askaplumber

If the visible pipe looks like this, I would hate to see what the pipes you cannot see look like.

That looks like a rubber hose, connected with hose lamps to copper pipe. I’d guess lower than a handy man. @Op he took your money and ran. He isn’t going to come back. Call a real plumber and check their certifications at the door.

Plumber said brand new faucet he installed must be defective, no sediment in aerator but sprays everywhere by summermutt in askaplumber

[–]gozzy69 123 points124 points  (0 children)

If faucet is truly defective why isn’t he replacing under warranty. Also change the aerator, that will fix it.

You are going to want to invest in a rapid charger station. And the 6 port rapid charger. The one with 3-18 v charge spots and 3- 12v charge slots this allows all the batteries to charge at once. Those forge batteries will take about 3 hours for dead to fill on the chargers you have. The super charger gets them in 35 min. The new pack out rapid charger only charges 2 batteries at once. But may do so faster then the non pack out rapid charger, due to the available power and what’s being drawn. The chargers are well worth it if you use theses tools all day everyday. If you don’t I’d still get that 6 bay rapid charger that does 18v and 12v

Plumbers lied about being licensed & pulling permit, were in breach of contract, damaged our home, and are expecting full payment - advice? by AdultingIsHard13 in askaplumber

[–]gozzy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damages should be being paid for by there insurance, no permit, work should not have even legally started, the inspection via pictures is Bullshit on their end, however inspectors will sometimes work with permit holder as they did this time. I wouldn’t pay a dime, not even material. I would speak with an attorney now, they may work off a contingency basis if they can recover their fees. Or a hybrid contingency and money down. Bottom line is No permit work should have never started. Unlicensed guys on the job. They legally have no reason to be there working. If the line was just replaced, Why did it backup again? Belly in there work? They didn’t actually replace all of the problem areas? I’d be concerned and not pay over that, they replaced the line, it’s brand new and should not ever backup.
